The Pathfinders and GDBA were meant to just sit in the DZ and take the active Vlcanoes, but he never played them like that. I got him first round and won pretty easily, his Kaminari shut down and my mechs were able to beat the stravag out of it into nothing. I lost the other two matches, although the third came down to 1 click away from salvaging the "Duke" Nova Cat(Volcanoes, d**n you! ). Eh, but it was still a good tourney, I finally managed in my entire playing career to kill off a transport with full cargo, so that was fun. Right now I am thinking of modding my SW 450 army from a dual mech to a single mech, but with a bit more support. 1 SW Thunder Fox w/NAIS Graduate w/Medium Armor Piercing 1 Hanse MBT 3 Undine Battle Armor(With the Hanse) 2 Arrow IV Artillery Tank 1 Salamander Battle Armor(Inbetween the Arrows) Total:450pts Although I no longer have the Blade with it's high speed to run around to the enemy's DZ, I figure the 2 Arrows will help support the army a bit more, pogging everywhere to keep the enemy at bay. I came up with this idea just to mess with another player at my venue who never brings less than 2 artillery per army, and just pogs everything, the rest of his army hiding right next to his arty. I figured a little payback is what is in order for the Stravag...

You need a pilot for your Thunderfox's. Whenever I see people playing a mech without a pilot I scratch my head and wonder why!

Ah crap, forgot to post the pilot, it is still the same design of NAIS and AP, just forgot to mention them.

Ok.. It looks a lot better now! I guess you felt like you needed armor piercing! Too many points for me but it certainly might work well!

Alright, just got around to building another DA, FFE, and DFA only army, Steel Wolves this time, since alot of their best stuff awas from there.
2 :^: Arbalest 108/216pts 1 :^: Padilla Artillery Tank 49pts 1 :^^^: J-37 Ordinance Transport 30pts(carrying Padilla) 2 :^: Maxim Mk2 Transport 28/56pts(each carrying 3 CBA) 6 :^^: Clan Battle Armor 15/90pts 1 Tora's Unruly Mob 7pts
Total:448pts
Have not decided what planetaries yet, but I think Urban and Mountain Range would be good for it. I am not entirely sure of how mission cards work, but if I can just have one in the army, I would be going with Control of the City. Comments, critiques?

Alright, have a new, 3000pt army I wanted to post. It is unrestricted, but plays in the rules of 1)No tank dropping, but tanks can still be transported, just not dropped and fired in the same turn, and 2)No artillery. It is SC/DF/HK.
Spirit Cat/Nova Cat forces[/b] 1 Declan Devalis 1 Arnis Drummond 2 Sun Cobra 1 Uziel w/Star Captain 2 Fulcrum Heavy Hover Tank 1 JI100 Recovery Vehicle 2 R10 Mechanized ICV 8 Hoverbike Squad(4 per Fulcrum) 1 Shadow Stalkers(In R10 1) 5 Kage Battle Armor(3 in one R10, 2 in the other with Stalkers) 1 The Scorchers(in Maxim) 2 Clan Battle Armor(In Maxim) MHI Crane Heavy Transport 2 Purifier Battle Armor(In MHI) 2 Sylph Battle Armor Dragons/Kuritan forces[/b] 1 Bounty Hunter(CA version) 1 Erin Johnston 1 Danni Haag 1 "Kaminari" Shiro w/ Moriko Horiama 2 Schmitt Tank 4 Purifier Battle Armor(2 per Schmitt) 1 Maxim MK2 Transport 1 Peasant Company SC/DF Situational Alliance
Total:3000pts.
Any suggestions or ideas?

I love those spirit cat hoverbikes. I used those so much I almost became a Spirit Cats advocate! I have horrible memories of Marat Deleportes. I thought about playing it for the campaign though. If you get double VC1 for a close combat attack then it could be very effective.

New SW army, for an unrestricted tournament tomorrow. No uniques, LEs, or elite units allowed, so I decided to run with the Wolves one last time before the Annihalation comes and I go back to nothing but Nova Cat/Spirit Cat armies. 130pts 1 Thunder Fox 19pts w/NAIS Grad 35pts w/Armor Piercing 104pts 1 Forestrymech Mod 28pts 1 Maxim MK2 Transport 49pts (carrying)1 Padilla Artillery Tank 17pts 1 JI100 Recovery Vehicle 10/20pts 2 Guila Suit(in formation with above) 16/48pts 3 Fenrir Battle Armor Total:450pts Planetaries:Active Volcanoes & Tornado Strategies:The main idea is to have two pieces of blocking, one on either side of my DZ, every game. Or just one in front of my DZ with both mechs in it. In a 450pt game, there is only one person I know who might take more than one artillery, but fortunately, he is not going tonight(He is the artillery "sleeper" of my venue). Basically at full value it is a defensive army, which sits back with the 14" ranges in the hindering, getting the +3 bonus for the FM, and +4 for the T-Fox. The Fenrirs are there to help support the mechs, and being that they are pretty repairable, I threw in a JI100(Also good as a "shiny" target kind of piece ). The Guila Suits shall infiltrate with it into the game, and the Padilla/drop is to threaten enemy arty from pogging my mechs. Comments/suggestions?

Being that you have seen what I plan to bring, mind posting your own forces for this engagement? Or are you just trying to hide a couple more stravag Liao Mechs in that faked Steel Wolf Dropship, quiaff?

You are a better man than I, Zxqueb! hmm what are you going to do against a Fatty? or a Shiro? Or even your dreaded Liao Targes? Post and tell us how you do! I would love to hear tactics with this army. It is definitely not an army I would have designed. Good luck and let us know!

Well, remember there are no uniques, LEs or Elite units in this unresricted, so the amount of fattys will be limited. Still, the SW T-Foxes are excellent mechs. With Nais Grads they have 11 attacks, that can be boosted with a formation drop. And each TF can defend the other. In Hindering, they have a defense of 24 at their prime click, even without a pilot bonus. Nice!
