A battlemaster was asking me for ideas of how to run the Marquee. One battlemaster made the event unrestricted and allowed us to use whatever pilot that came with the mech. If it wouldn't have been for that I would have had 0 of 6 usable pilots! It also seems like Annihilation sealed is a turtle game Anyone have any ideas I can suggest to the BM running the Marquee?

I don't have any suggestions about the CTA event. Azhael ran his as a straight sealed, which worked out well.
I've played Annihilation in a couple of sealed events now and disagree that it is a turtle game. Without artillery, it is not easy to get people who are hanging back to come forward, but because there are no PCs that mess with terrain much, with proper placement, you can create a good screen to advance behind. In only 1 game did I have to turtle, and then it was more of a flight to protect my quad which had been beaten to within 1 click of salvage.
I think it depends on your playstyle. I tend to not hang back, but take it to the enemy. Annihilation works fine for that style of play.

hmm I feel there is a lot of potential for turtline esp if you get the right mechs. The one game I played against a really good player.. I had to play bumper bots some.. that is definitely NOT my style of play. I watched the number 2 player and another good player turtle a ton. It wasa boring game to watch

In theory you can turtle with any army you build. So like Zxqueb said alot of it has to do with the players. ;D

That is true.. It is much harder to turtle with artillery raining down on you though! This set is particularly bad for usuable pilots (coming with appropriate mechs) The only good pulls (in sealed) are some of the uniques and any novacat mech but a Kurita one. the BM was asking me what I thought we should do or how I would run it. I was saying I guess you can play whatever pilot comes with your mech. Does that seem fair or appropriate (he has made the Event Unrestricted for all your Purists out there )

I also like the stalking spiders and havoks in sealed.
the idea of playing whatever pilot comes with your mech seems fair to me as long as people aren't allowed to switch them around to get maximum bonus for the piece they want to use regardless of weight class. It may be hard to police depending on size of the tournament.

Stalking spiders are decent. We have people who play fair. I am not really concerned about that! It woudl be very difficult to enforce in a larger tournament.
