Anyone picked up possible rule changes to booster and booster draft games once Wolf Strike comes in?
Will it still be 3 (more expensive) boosters or 2 plus some support (rather like the Worlds event). I can't see 2 WS boosters (4 mechs, 2 vehs, 4 inf) being viable in 600 draft or booster without some sort of outside reinforcement.
There also seem to be some quality issues with WS regarding the mix of pilots and mechs. Doesn't bode well...
20 days to go - any thoughts/ideas or rumours?

I think that 2 boosters should be more than adequate! Even if you got 4 light mechs.. you should still be able to build 600 pts of an army! I will run it as 2 WS boosters unless WK comes up with some other rule. I really didn't care for the bring stuff with you rule!

I guess 2 would do for me - like you say, plenty of points. Its just the lack of "fillers" or support.
Three boosters would make these events too expensive. OK for me but not good for bringing the boys along.
I suppose the "bring along extra stuff" was a good solution to the problems of Vanguard. Hopefully WS has a better spread of gear and pilots that won't make that necessary.
Still, I'd be disappointed if the requirement for 3 wasn't downsized to 2 just ease the cost.

Oh, it'll be 2 boosters. With 4 mechs from 2 boosters 4 lights easily makes the points up, and I believe Southpaw told me that was going to be the change. Don't quote me on that, but it helps to live near him. Also, WS should have a much better spread of gear for the afformentioned sizes.

Hitting 600 should be no real problem with 4 mechs, assuming pilots and gear match up. I'm not sure 2 vehicles and 4 infantry will be enough for support, which is disappointing. Personally, I'd like to see the sideboard written into the MW tournament rules document. I liked the addition in Worlds and would like to see that option again.

Honestly, I think a side-board for mech sealed's is NOT a good idea. That completely takes the "I have no idea what I'm getting" aspect out of it.
And I know what you'll say Z, you then don't get to choose what you play and end up playing all the extra chaff pieces. We all do it at some point, we all HAVE to use chaff in sealed's, we've all done it, it was called Falcons Prey. But honestly, in 600 4 mechs you shouldn't be playing everything, and 4 infantry 2 vehicles should be fine.

I agree with Warlord1985. I really don't like the Sideboard. I really really disliked it!
One of the things that scares me some though. I heard a number of people from DragonCon saying that they would get 2 heavies or 2 lights in a single box. That would be unfortunate in the very least!

I'm a bit on the fence. I think a substantial sideboard takes away a little too much from the format. I think what I would like to see is either a generic pilot sideboard (no gunslingers or legendaries) or a fixed set of pilots for use in sealed, much like the Battlestar Galacttica game has generic bases, for use in the event you don't pull one in your packs. Pulling all light mechs isn't necessarily a killing blow. Pulling a bunch mechs you cannot put pilots in is.
In the game's curent state, a mech with no pilot in it is just about unplayable. With attack values of 8 and defenses in the teens you can get smashed even by the worst of vehicles and lame mechs that simply have pilots in them...

In the game's curent state, a mech with no pilot in it is just about unplayable. Very true -- Until you go 3-1 at worlds with no pilots, then it becomes an option! Z

Well, if we are talking about SKILLED players, I have to concede the point!

A couple of pilots as a sideboard wouldn't bother me.. Actually I think it would be a pretty good idea. I am just not sure how they could implement that for Sealed.. Everyone can bring a (P-057 ) or whatever. I guess that might convince people to buy more but it would be hard for some players to have the available at some venues. I could bring some for everyone at my venue but still something of a difficulty to implement. Maybe the need to send out like Rob Jeurgens or Anastasia Kerensky for each sealed as a participtation prize. That way everyone can use their participtation prize in one of the mechs regardless of size

Just seen on the WK BM Site that Mike has stated that WS Sealed events will be 2 boosters and 600 points. The tourney rules shold be updated pretty soon to reflect this.

That only makes sense The price for sealed hasn't changed! It shouldn't be hard to make 600 from 4 mechs If you can't do that.. you have some issues

Tournament Rules have jsut been updated to reflect the WS Boosters (but you can still use boosters from sets up to and inc Va to haold a 3 booster 450 event).
Also, Galeforce 9 Terrain is now tourney legal - anyone know of any nice pieces/differently-shaped pieces that may make a difference when looking at placement etc?
