And there is a sale going on with them. Buy a Master Set or a Castle Set and get a Flag Bearer for free.

I'm seeing some mixed reviews of the flag Bearers. A lot of cash if you want the set and some seem to be more useful on the battlefield that others. I may just go for Sir Gilbert and Ornak. The Einar one would boost may favorite troops such as the Greeks and the Romans, but the cost then starts to rise.

'cept they don't have any castles sets... The sale goes on for a while as near as I can tell (it's a TRU Big Book sale, with no defninate end date mentioned). They seem to be restocking Castle sets fairly quickly (I always seem to find them when I go out anymore). To check out stat cards go here - heroscapers.com/?p=55#more-55The figures come with a factioned dice bag with embroidered logo, 12 attack and defense d6 with the formerly blank squre containing the faction logo for the abilities, and a d20.

They are pretty good, the problem is these pieces were more or less promised at Gen Con to retail at 9.99. As of release date, They are 12.99. That's more than an army pack of 7 or 8 figures usually sells for. Is 12.99 worth one figure and a set of dice? Maybe. But that has to be followed by the real question, Is it worth it four times? Not so sure. I would have been much happier if this was 24.99 for all four figures and the dice.
I guess I'm on the wait and see boat...

Do you have a rundown on their stats and abilities? Z OK, here goes... HATOMO TAROLife: 5 Move: 5 Range: 1 Attack: 2 Defence: 2 130 points Heroic Defence Aura When defending against a normal attack by an adjacent figure with any Samurai or Ashigaru figures you control within 8 clear sight spaces of Hatamoto Taro, you may roll Einar Valkyrie dice. Each Einar symbol rolled counts as an additional shield. Heroic Defence Aura does not affect Hatamoto Taro. Adjacent Tough 1 When rolling defence dice for Hatamoto Taro, if Hatamoto Taro is adjacent to at least one figure you control who follows Einar, add one automatic shield to the defence roll. SIR GILBERTLife: 6 Move: 5 Range: 1 Attack: 3 Defence: 4 105 points Jandar’s DispatchAfter taking a turn with Sir G you may roll 12 Jandar Valkyrie dice. Move up to 4 squad figures who follow Jandar up to X spaces where X is the number of Jandar symbols you rolled. The figures must be within 8 clear spaces of Sir G before making the move. Attack Aura 1All friendly figures adjacent to Sir G with a range of 1 add +1 to their normal attack. LAGLORLife: 6 Move: 5 Range: 7 Attack: 3 Defence: 3 110 points Vydar’s Range Enhancement AuraAll friendly units with a range of 4+ and who follow Vydor and are within 4 clear sight spaces of Laglor get +2 range. This does not affect Laglor himself. Autoload Attack - Range 7 Att 3Use the Vydor Valkyrie dice. If you roll at least 1 Vydor symbol, you get another Autoload attack. ORNAKLife: 4 Move: Range: 1 Attack: 3 Defence: 3 100 points Red Flag of Fury AuraIf Order marker 1 is placed on Ornak, instead of taking your turn with Ornak, you may move up to 2 unique heroes who follow Utgar. These heroes must be within 8 clear spaces of Ornak. Ork Battle CryIf attacking with Orc Warrior figures within 2 clear sight spaces of Ornak, you roll Utgar Valkyrie dice. Each Utgar symbol counts as an additional skull. Life: 4 Move: 6 Range: 1 Attack: 3 Defence: 3 100 points ACOLARHLife: 5 Move: 5 Range: 1 Attack: 3 Defence: 2 110 points Leaf of the Home Tree AuraWhen any Elf you control within 8 clear spaces of Acolarh receives enough wounds to be destroyed, you roll 10 Ullar Valkyrie dice before removing the figure. If you roll 3 Ullar symbols, ignore any wounds that the figure has received. This ability does not apply to Acolarh. Ullar’s AmuletAny friendly figures who follow Ullar who start the turn adjacent to Acolarh may move 2 additional spaces. They certainly add a bit of "faction pure" flavour. Acorlah keeping his Elves alive could get really frustrating. I think they're a good addition to the game but its a lot of money for 1 figure and a few dice...
