That's completely understandable. This coming weekend is Jen's weekend off, so I'm out too. I'm in for a week from Saturday.

And I thought she didn't care when I was over til as long as you didn't leave the house? She doesn't. I am not sure what this has to do with anything. I was just saying we pretty much usually game till 1:00 AM or so on Thursdays. Factoring in the 15-20 minute or so ride to Recess thats 12 hours out of the house spent at a game store, not a trivial amount of time. Four more hours at my house after the Thursday game and that's 16 hours of gaming a week! I think Shelby is remarkably understanding considering the time and money spent on my toys. And don't forget.....26 days at Gen Con/Origins! As for Fridays, those kind of fall in with Saturdays. Since her shift starts at 3:00 AM, typically she has to go to bed fairly early during the week, which is why she doesn't mind me going out too much during that time. Her days off are Saturday and Sunday, which means no "curfew" on Friday and Saturday. It also means that in order to actually see her not half-asleep, these are my days to do so. Playtesting was (is) a nightmare for me because it is always scheduled on Friday nights, which is why I am typically not there for the full session anymore. I tried taking her and the kids with me once, and we all know how that worked out... Which brings me to my last point. I am the only one of you guys that has kids. This is the biggest reason I am a bit hand-cuffed. My kids are young. Ages 4,6, and 7 means a day home alone with them is quite stressful. It is blatently unfair for me to spend all day at school and come home for an hour or so, then be gone all night during the week, only to take off again on the weekend. In a couple years it won't be a big deal, especially since it is quite obvious Sean is going to be quite the gamer. He'll probably come with me. This is also the primary reason we can't just game at my house. Playing Twilight Imperium while being interrupted every 4 minutes by curious kids will not be fun. If I lock us in the garage, I am leaving Shelby to deal with the kids by herself. If I do that, I may as well have left for the day! Anyway, I just wanted to let you guys know that you are not banned from house, and Shelby isn't a raving lunatic holding me hostage. We are just going to have to plan our get togethers a bit more in advance... I may be able to coerce next Saturday out of her as there is no Dreamblade next week....let the negotiating begin!!!!

What do you end up doing on Fridays? Playtesting isn't that important. My, My isn't Dave living dangerously....

I fully understand your problems with the kids man. I know Shelby is very nice letting you out. I just wasn't sure if me coming over was annoying to her, because you always said that if we went to your place it was fine, but it now seems that she doesn't like it when I come over to game even then. I don't want to be an annoyance.
Next saturday I am scheduled to work. And, since my manager is going out of town til monday, I'm not sure if I can trade shifts with anyone. I'll have to see who works and who possibly can cover for me. I just hope that if we are going to alternate weeks, we can at least hammer them down so I can put in ahead of time.
On the playtesting thing, yeah, well, we all know how we all feel.
Also, call me today for tonight Jeff. If I don't hear from you by 4:40 I'll call you.

For me, it will be every other week, although on the weekends that Jen's off, I'll likely have nothing going on on Fridays since she'll be working. Tomorrow I work late though.
Next Saturday we might be able to get together after Dave works if he feels like it and can't trade days.
Incidentally, I have a deck for each Eve faction as of last night, though the Caldari is just a version of Dave's insanity.

So my dreary "I've just tried to get three kids to do homework, chased them around since school let out, fed them their various meals because no two kids can eat the same thing, cleaned up their messes and had two dogs that decided to eat the garbage" look isn't doing it for you Dave? I have no problem with you guys coming over. I could care less if you are still here at 3:30am when I leave for work. You play so quietly I can't even really tell you are here...not that it matters if you were as loud as a herd of rabid elephants, I pass out as soon as my head hits the pillow. Jeff and I have limited time together and it is very rarely without kids. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (my days off) have been a luxury for us to see eachother even if it is in the midst of screaming children and garbage chugging dogs. So I am a little protective of those days. You all of course are invited over anytime....just don't turn into Cheese Boy because I WILL spit in your sodas....and serve them with a smile. ;D

The only reason I said anything in the first place was because I thought you wanted more time with Jeff. I just didn't want to be a bother.
BTW, in this state, its pronounced Pop, not soda.

Dave only infidels call it 'pop'.
I fall asleep too early in the week anyway. Nothing is more boring than sitting around the house watching me sleep so I expect Jeff to be out doing something.

YAY! I have been busting North Carolina's into learning the appropriate word is POP. My daughter said to me "Can I have a Soda, DAD..." I said "No, I don't see any of that" She then says "Ok can I have Pop" I said "Sure " She is learning Ok one more that is driving my wife crazy (she grew up in Ohio but she doesn't Like it) What are Mangoes? I keep calling them that.. They call them Green Peppers down here. I am working on that!

Well then I guess we have to do the "plan 3 weeks in advance" thing. Yeah. I'm waiting to hear from Burton which day his Firefly/serenity RPG is going to be on. I have to captain the ship. If it's friday, I can hang out Saturday. If saturday, the reverse is true. And I did it, Dave. I ordered a bunch of common/uncommon dreamblade stuff to start playing (since everyone else is doing it... now where is that bridge that I need to think about throwing myself off). I'm going to focus on Fear and Madness. I'll probably pick up a starter/booster in the next day or so. I'll trade away Passion and Valor if I get any. I'm planning on buying only what I need on the secondary market instead of getting hosed buying boosters like I have for other CMGs. Ah the lure of money. Anyway... Z
