Announcement (found here: www.wizkidsgames.com/wk_article.asp?cid=41914 ) The Topps Company announced today that WizKids will immediately cease operations and discontinue its product lines. Scott Silverstein, CEO of Topps, said “This was an extremely difficult decision. While the company will still actively pursue gaming initiatives, we feel it is necessary to align our efforts more closely with Topps current sports and entertainment offerings which are being developed within our New York office.” Upon notifying our partners, Topps will immediately pursue strategic alternatives so that viable brands and properties, including HeroClix, can continue without noticeable disruption. To that end, WizKids will continue supporting Buy it By the Brick redemptions for Arkham Asylum, and the December Organized Play events for HeroClix. For consumer announcements, please refer to www.wizkidsgames.com over the coming days for further information. ----------------------------- Seems like the companys death to stop production on all product lines, regardless of what the second half of the press release states. It's not like we didn't all see this coming, but it still sucks to see the mighty laid low. Z

Long time since I've been on this site. MW has died in my area and now it looks like its pretty terminal.
I've had to get my paints and brushes out over the past few months and so far I've racked up a 28mm ancient Greek army, a small group of 28mm Talliban and now its onto 28mm Canadians for WW2 (the sad thing is that the last time I painted any minis, my eyes could cope with 12 and 15mm - how depressing is that?).
Are the MW Realms forums down for a tech refresh or have they also suffered? I assume that the WK Forums have also been pulled (or is it my computer at work?).
Hope you are all keeping well - maybe someone will try and take up the WK name and keep some of the lines going?
Happy Thanksgiving (I was born in Boston, Engalnd where the local football club is called "The Pilgrims".).

I'm not sure about realms since I don't go there much anymore. Last I heard, the heroclixers broke the realms when they found out about WK. I thought that had been fixed though.
There are apparently some offers on the table to buy up the IPs. In particular Catalyst has made some move for those properties. I tend to think they won't do anything with MW since it competes with CBT to some degree -- which is sad since I think CBT is a fairly awful, clunky system.
Of course, I'm not sure that any of WK's properties are particularly viable in the marketplace right now. There is too much bad blood directed toward the clix systems. Maybe in a decade it'll be able to make a comeback.
