Just wondered if anyone was still playing the game? I've actually packed a lot of my figures away and taken them up into the loft for long term storage. I think there's a European/German event in June but that's about all the information I can get from the forums that remain open.
By the way, anyone know where I could still get hold of the Wolf's Dragoons pack?

It's pretty dead around here. Some of us moved on to Dreamblade and then to WoW Minis. Southpaw and some of the other regulars have been playing CBT, I believe. I generally dislike CBT, so I haven't been out there and don't know if that is still going on. I have several hundred MW figures going to hit ebay at some point soon, just to get them out of my house and free up some storage. The mighty have fallen!

The Recess guys play CBT alot. I don't go up there anymore at all. Mech is as dead as Wizkids. With the sale of the rights to Catalyst thats the final seal that will sh*t MW's door forever. I should EBay my mech at some point like Z, but I doubt it will go for anything. I hope for our sakes it does.

I kind of doubt that it'll go for much either, but mech has paid me back in full for what I put into the game. Any little bit I can get is just a nice perk. Ebaying is mostly to assure that the pieces are going to a good home and not a landfill. I'm keeping some stuff still -- most of the power pieces, a bunch of uniques and 1 or 2 of each mech type for use in the future in case they come out with battletech rules that I like.

Has anyone looked into developing a set of mechwarior like battletech rules. I tried CBT and there were parts of it I really liked, like being able to configure your mechs, but it was pretty heavy on the rules, dice and number crunching. I love the story line and I've got enough MW pieces to defend several planets. I'd love to pull them out of retirement. If someone could combine the speed and strategic elements of mech with the customizability of CBT they'd have a real winner in my book. Of course since everyone who is likely to play already has the pieces there wouldn't be much money to be made, so unless it's a grass roots effort it's probably not too likely.

We still have two good size groups playing in MI. One group is over by Detroit (LordNth and his friends) and the remaining Marauders in the Muskegon area. Some from my group will be going down to South Bend Indiana at the end of March to play in "large" tournament. Mechs is a great game and still brings us much joy.

Ive moved jobs so getting to the games club during the week is a real problem for me. A lot of the players have moved over to Flames of War. We've made some templates for minefields, bunkers and dug in positions to carry out some sort of assault game. We will handle artillery and air strikes using cards rather than units on the board. Transports would only be allowed to carry infantry bases or vehicles less than or equal to the transport's own points value. Hopefully we can get up enough interest to stage something along these lines.

It's been a long time since I remembered the exact name of this site.
I don't want to count my chickens too early, but right now I'm trying to re-establish a MW group around my home city. Most of the people in my group have cars now, the summer's approaching, and I've been in contact with about four other guys, all old players, who've expressed some interest in getting back in. Chances are first off we'll do some Commie re-distribution plan to move our pieces along faction-player lines (I'll be parting with most of my SW players to go to one of the other guys so he can have a lot more variety and power, and the Rasalhague everyone wanted will probably go to another guy in order to give him something other than just Republic). Besides that I've also got some ideas for looking over the old campaigns WK first started the game off with, and setting up meets with those scenarios I think the atmosphere might be better with these guys now, with WK kaputt in the business sector, there's actually no retirement spectre hovering over our old pieces, and everything can get pulled out.
Best news for this hope is that over Spring Break two weeks ago I got to play a couple games with two of the guys, can't believe I forgot how fun it was, even with artillery =P .

We still have players showing up weekly at two different venues in Alabama. I hardly ever make it out anymore, but we do have our third State Championship planned for June.
