I've had Battleplanner for over a year and used it a lot at first. I've found that I've not used the thing for what seems an eternity - probably April this year in preparation for the Euro Event.
Biggest problem is keeping the inventory up to date. This is probably even tougher now, as I'd never bothered with the retired pieces.
I think I may keep BP going, but only for the "comptetitive sets" other wise its going to be a real struggle to get back on level terms.
Mrs C isn't too chuffed when she wanders into the spare room to find the floor covered in MW pieces, only to hear that I've sepnt the last 3 hours "updating my inventory"...
Any of you guys use it and if so, do you keep it up to date?

Any of you guys use it and if so, do you keep it up to date? yes and yes, i find BP is a great tool for working out and printing up armies prior to putting them together. it can be quite easy to update if you work out how to multi-select figs and input however i find that the best way is to do it as you go along. my main prob now is that as i recently moved my PC isnt connected so the WS info wont be updated so quickly.

Yep, I use battleplanner all the time! It's an awesome tool for army creation, though I never use it for inventory management.

Have they updated the database to include Vanguard - I can only see Solitude and a few other pieces.

Yeah, the entire Vanguard set's up.
Battleplanner is indispensible for me -- I couldn't build armies without it. All my computers have it, and they all have the most up-to-date versions of the database. If they made it for Palms, I'd buy a Palm just to have it handy for when it's slow at work and I want to work out an army idea.

Why does battleplanner bug you, Elite?

I am used to MW realms having all the data.
I tried Battleplanner 3 times and didnt like it.
Seeing all the stats in one view is my most used info in regarding the quality of pieces.
If only battleplanner had the oversight of mwrealms.....

I also live by battleplanner. I print out my armies and bring them with me to the games. I also wouldn't have a clue as to what I have without battleplanner It does a good job of showing stats and being updated! if you have any batlleplanner questions, there is a good forum for it or you could ask here. I am sure there is plenty of battleplanner experience here!

I managed to get the latest updates - now its a matter of loading the inventory.
I see Elite's point about stats - the ones on Realms are put together really well.
I need to work out my Seka's Pride/Ryohara/Decoy combos...

I am unsure of what you are talking about on stats. The only nice thing that I see that battleplanner doesn't have that the Realms does is the ability to show the modified stats after adding a pilot. Other than that I thing battleplanner has a lot more options and presents the information better!

I've been trying out the Demo version for a couple of days now. Still haven't quite got the hang of it - but I think once I learn, the software will be very flexible and useful. I was really grateful for full Ares stats, rather than just generalities. Really nice program, IMHO.

I take it all back about the Stats. I'd not been clicking the correct button that showed the REalms-like stat windows (Ooops!). This programme is REALLY good!
I've managed to get the Battleforce Sets uploaded and have tried to get the Ares Set. How do the Ares appear - what expansion should I be able to find them under?
I've tried to get the update a couple of times but no sign of the Ares apprearing.

The ares are in the latest update. They appear really well. You have to remember to update the program and the Units release (two separate updates necessary due to WK legal sanctions) Get the latest release of Battleplanner Program and the get the latest Omega (or just mechwarrior release). If you are looking at inventory you might click (count > 0) off so you can see everything. If this doesn't work for you let me know and I will give you the exact versions you need to have for the Ares.. I do live by Battleplanner
