Personally i dont like Solaris much. If you take for example Haria with her own pilot, put evade on it and always give it a dodge. The other guy most likely misses, but you get a free attack. Same with headmaster.
Also, for a game where heat management is key, i find it very odd that you cannot vent a shutdown mech.
I feel that in this game more the regular MW you have only a few mentionable pieces, and rely to much on luck. Also i find it very cheap that infiltrate is not a gear. A much better option would have been +1 or +2 initiative on your first turn.

Initial thoughts are it looks good and will make a good supporting game to MW proper (and NOT the other way around...). I don't think WK ever claimed it would be the other way around. Except of course they're turning this year's MW Worlds into a SOLARIS Match... Lets hope that's a one-off.

I've only picked up the Heavy SOLARIS Pack so far - those 16 inch ranged mechs were too good to resist...
I'm not keen on mediums and assaults but I have been looking at the stats on the light mechs to see if they merit a run out at MW...
Yojinbo Rokurokubi Spd 9, Av9 (rising to 12), 3 ballistic 0-14, DV 18 + Hardened armour. 270 degree arc. 126 points
Another Roku to add to the collection. Has some rapid strike on the dial but overall nothing much different to what we already have.
Laser Bait Hellion Spd 10, AV9, 3 ballistic 4-12 and 3 energy 0-10, DV 20 + Heavy armour. 122 points.
Here's one to trade off for something decent.
6 Gun Koshi Spd 10 + JJ, AV9, 4 energy 0-10, DV 20 + Reactive armour. Vent of 3 and no shut down until 4th click. 126 points.
Probably the heat dial is the best part of this mech. Short-ranged and low defence will make it difficult to use.
Lucky Spider Spd 10 + JJ, AV9, 3 energy 0-10, DV21. 123 points.
With stats like these, "Lucky" is probably the worst knickname I've ever come across for such a poor mech.
Possum Cadaver Spd 10, 9AV, 3 energy and 3 ballistic both 0-10, DV 20 + hardened armour. 122 points.
Decent enough mech but the pilot ability (Creighton) to regain 6 clicks of life when eliminated makes this one pretty unique. Crighton costs 26 points for that ability and has stats of just 2-1-1.
Valentine Vixen Spd 12 + Evade, 10AV, 2 energy (with pulse) 0-12, DV 20. 119 points.
Now we're getting somewhere. I like this mech a lot. Good speed, long range and good damage. Add in Graves (or that guy called Valnek) and its a pumped up BR Soli.
Tick Nyx Spd 10 + Evade, 9AV, 2 ballistic + Arm P 0-10, 3 energy 0-10, DV19. 124 points.
Another OK mech saved by a decent pilot ability. Patris gets +1 AV when he targets an opponent of greater points cost than his own. He is a 2-2-1 to start with and his ability will cost 28 points in the Nyx. Shame about the low DV on this one.
Metablade Solitaire Spd 10 + Evade, 11AV, 3 energy + pulse 0-10, 18DV, vent 3. 123 points.
An 11 AV on a light mech puts this one in a class of its own. An expensive ride with Kelly but there's a potential 14AV + IT here on a mech that could dish out 6 damage in a turn.
A couple of other CECs that look useful...
Chapman's stats of 3-2-1 for 23 points make him a decent light pilot who only recruits for 4.
Patris, a 2-2-1 will also recruit to any faction - something that stops me from using the Twins' pilots when I play with the Falcons.
Light Brawling is a welcome addition - especially at only 11 points. Should make those HK Rokurokubis really happy and perhaps find their way into the HK-Liao SA armies rather than Kuro Ha.
I'm not sure that as a set these mechs bring a great deal to MW. A couple of them are good pieces but they all come in at the mid 120 point range which could see some of them dropped as choices when the points start to run out. I can see the appeal to new players who want to play SOLARIS, but I'm a bit disappointed at the stats for a mech class that is normally so powerful.

I'd probably use this in my all roku force, but probably not a strictly competitive piece. [ The heat dial seems like it would be HUGE in S7. I don't think it'd make a great AoD piece, but 4 damage is nothing to sneeze at. I don't hate it. 21 defense is still respectable. An annoying pilot ability if it goes off consistently. Really really annoying. As I recall, it puts it back into hardened armor. I disagree. 2 damage, even with pulse, is not good enough. You'll shut down and get DESTROYED. I like the attack of 10, but for 11 more points, I'd take scrub every time. That's one terrible defense. I'm not sure it's outweighed by the attack value.

So not a lot on offer for my money - never mind - I can buy 3 Halo Boosters for the same cash.

Not a bad choice... especially if you can get your kids to play! Z

For me, these are the reasons to get this pack - if any. Of course, there are enough people selling off the stuff individually that you could get these things for quite a bit less than the $30 retail price. As for Chapman - doesn't the Specter pilot have the same stats? I really like the +3 speed for lights - very nasty with BR Solis or WH Mjolnirs.

Yeah -- light brawling is good, but hardly worth the $30. Everything else is either redundant or outclassed by existing mechs IMO.
