Well, this will be my first post on this site... last time I checked, this wasn't a forum but whatever lol
So far I've got -
2 X House Davion Centaur Battle Armor - 2 X 23 Points (46) 1 X SwordSworn Hasek MCV - 1 X 65 Points 1 X SwordSworn Towed Gauss Rifle - 1 X 23 Points 1 X Highlander Shun Transport VTOL - 1 X 47 Points
Then I might add - 1 X House Liao - Felix Jarta - Ghost - 182 Points 1 X House Davion Tokugawa Heavy Tank - 1 X 52 Points 2 X SwordSworn Clan Battle Armor - 2 X 17 Points (34) 1 X SwordSworn Inner Sphere Battle Armor - 1 X 18 Points
The Hasek can drop the TGR to hit things for three. The Centaurs will make big mechs dance. The Tokugawa/CBA/ISBA is a formation to give the infantry 20 defense until they get into attack range.
I'm not sure what to put in the Shun - I lack any high-power battle armor...
I could subsitute the Centaurs for an SSA4, but I would rather have both the centaurs because they can stagger-fire.
Thoughts?

hmm I thought you were going for faction pure at first.. Missed that was the Liao Ghost!
hmmmm I would much prefer a SwordSworn THunderfox over Felix jarta. I would much rather have a SSW Arrow IV than a Davion Tokugawa Tank.
20 defense isn't much for most things to hit anymore. I don't see the tokugawa adding that much.
hmmm I think you need a much better centerpiece than felix.
I will have to think some more upon it!

Unfortunately, I'm missing any recent SS Mechs - though I do have the House Davion Hellion and Zeus.
When I play faction pure I use almost the same army, just 2 tokugawas + 2 infantry formations (CBA/ISBA) and the Hellion + Pulse and SS Captain. I think I use the SS Mars Assault Tank too, along with both the Centaurs.

perhaps you can use the tokugawa's.. an 8 attack is just something I can't live with... It shouldn't be that hard to find a SSW thunderfox! (if you can get SSW Leader pilot then you are really good in a SSW Thunderfox)

The 8 attack is a bother, but I can deal with it. The Tokugawa, after delivering the infantry, just becomes a glorified infantry killer. Though if things get rough, it can formation fire with the infantry for 12 or 14 attack (how many units in a ranged combat formation?)
I really like the SS Mars assault Tank. Good damage, AV, DV and range. All for 107 points!

You are spending the same points on a Tokugawa as you would a SSW Arrow IV. The Arrow IV is so much more flexible... You can actually have up to 5 in a ranged combat formation with a minimum of 3! I guess everyone's play style is different though

Thats just it - I know you like to play Warpog, whereas I like to play 'combined arms'. I also prefer infantry over battlemechs, though I include at least one mech in every army I play. The first army I ever played was - Stormhammer Crimson HawkDragon's Fury Gnome Battle Armor DF Infiltrator MKII Battle Armor DF Salamander Battle Armor 2 X SS Gnome Battle Armor 1 X SS SRM Team 1 X ROTS Achilieus Battle Armor something else too, but I forget... This was back in the early days of the House Liao invasion of the Republic. It was the scenario where infantry got +2 defense. I faced a triple mech army - two SH Ullers and a SH Cougar back by cavaliers. I'm still suprised that I won, thanks to the Crimson Hawk being able to tie up the mechs and some of his inafntry. My infantry proved their worth - took down 2 of the mechs, salavaged the third, captured a handful of his infantry and killed the rest. I lost the Crimson Hawk. His rolls kinda sucked though

I have played warpog.. I really don't like it! But two artillery are just right for a combined arms. They aren't enough to decimate your opponent but control his movement and actions! With the game being reduced to 50 minutes that has hurt Warpog more than a lot of things.. You just don't have enough time to kill those big mechs. Two artillery are infinitely superior in my opinion to 1 arty!

That's just it, with 2 arty I can fire each turn, but with one I can fire only every other turn...

I really like the arrow IV's over the Tokugawa tank. I would change that out in a heartbeat! 3 arty might not be awful if you are using Centaurs either!

Thats the point with 2 arty... you can make something dance until it drops with constant fire

Yeah, but with assault orders my Centaurs can be put in serious danger. I'll have to hide them behind something...

I like the base part of your army Art, but I agree with Baw that you need to find something other than felix to work as your hammer unit. What other good mechs do you have? Do you have any gunslingers that could be recruited to bring you more into alliance purity? That would be especially helpful with the infantry pieces.

I have no uniques post-aod I have a HD Zeus, Catalina Trujillo (the shen yi), Declan Devalis, Monic Delportas (i think that's the name - its the SC Warhammer), Bounty Hunter (original in Marauder II)... that's all for quality hammer mechs.. would a HD Hellion with Pulse count?

Bounter Hunter is BIG hammer and very mobile.. It is pricey but I have seen it used very effectively! The think I really like about BH.. VERY MOBILE, High Attack, High defense, Good damage... Weakness.. only Medium Range, Mech, Low Close combat defense.
Declan Devalis is an ok unit.. His attack just isn't high enough any more!
