Phase II of Operation Ball and Chain is underway. Next weekend, there's another UK meet so Tom and I are hoping to get over there to play MW. The format is a 900 points contstructed, no set retirement in force but you must have at least 4 mechs in your battleforce.
No suprises here, I rekon the following should be worth taking:
Seka/Ryohara/Decoy BR Soli/Graves/Decoy BR Soli/Mazur/Decoy SW Forestry Mech MOD-B SW Forestry Mech MOD-B ROTS Bishop 3 x BR TGRs 4 x Liao ATVs True Grit
Plenty of high DVs and evade to keep mobility up and the dials cool. Those SW Mechs are potent enough but I can afford to loose them at 81 points a piece.
Next phase is 900 points but mech only. Blank sheet of paper time. I do like to take the same stuff along if poss (keeps the logistics to a minimum), so Seka and a BR Soli are still in it for me. That leaves me 2 mechs to get.
So, if you lot had that blank piece of paper and had to fit 4 mechs minimum would you go for:
A mix of Lt/Med/Hvy able to shoot long and to mix it in close? A swarm (probably lights)? A couple of assaults backed by lights? Something else?
I'm wondering if a Shiro/Jack combo would come into its own or if a Liao/HK CC army would be useful (at 2/450 on the SA, it could be used 4 times in a 900 point game - I think).
Also, at 900 would a Merc FP card be used twice in a turn - can't remember if there's a frequency on this one.
