Is really unhappy about the VC2 rule. I am trying to justify it to him.. But here is his issue: If you bring less to the field than the max you are penalized! IE You are already losing because of not having enough VC2.
He hates that (probably because he lost a big game to it)
My reasons for why it is valid:
1) You need to bring all available resources to the battle. Bringing the maximum is good.
2) It would change the entire army building process if you rewarded people for coming in under points (IE No, I am just playing black rose)
3) It would ruin the current Super Secret Format (Batchall)
I know for a while I messed around with actually getting more VC2 points for coming under (during an unrestricted) but I see that it can be problematic.
My final answer was.. Don't fix what is working!
any other ideas?

Regarding the VC2 issue.
In Heroclix games are based on points of survivors vs kills. The problem was that for a while (and I beleive still) that if you have less points in your army, 293 compared to 300, the guy with less automatically wins in a stalemate if everyone refuses to move and kill anything. To me stalemates say either you both suck or your both girl thingys, but the short of it is that it penalizes the guy who brought a full force. For a while one piece armies, 112 point armys, that could just phase around the board and never get hit ever won just because they won on points. It sucks. Never let it be a change to who has less.
On the other hand, I won't even get into why having a Faction Pride or situational alliance penalizes you in VC standpoints. To me its ridiculous.

I've said it before... if you build under the total build, don't be surprised if your opponent sits back and waits for you. And he SHOULD. If you take a SA or FP or just less troops, it's up to you to take an aggressive posture.
Besides, VC2 without the split of VC1 and 2, you couldn't have the BH suicide army. You couldn't pull out wins by (or in my case lose games to...) salvaging, but not killing vehicles while you have vc3. It adds an extra layer of thought and complexity to the game while forcing both players to stay as close to a build total as possible.

FP and SA cards give your army a "power edge"there ment to play agressively, because it useless to have that ability and NOT USE IT!!! ;D
Besides puting 7 damage through a crit hit FP on 9-ball is fun and wrong. ;D

I orginally agreed with him that starting down vc2 shouldn't be a negative thing but after I started posting that post. I realized all the other issues with it. It does have it's benefits. It would be nice to reward a player for bringing few points though without swaying the balance too much but I don't think it is really possible!

And Baw.... hehehehh..... you lost one of your pieces

lol.. that I did.. The bad thing was if he wouldn't have told me .. I wouldn't have notice. I actually gave the guy a ride home. He is a new player so I gave him the choice of picking a card or a Mech we had left over as prize support from previous events. He chose the Rokuroubi. He put the Rokuroubi in his backpack.. When he climbed out of the car he saw the LE box there and picked up thinking it was his He is a really nice guy. He was really afraid of sending the wrong impressions I wouldn't have missed the Esparanza.. I dread to think how many I have! But I will finally have to clean the prizes out of my car. I have lost interest in dragging prizes in the house and putting them in the system. With so many repeats On the other issue you brought up. The guy who has been getting bumped out has been trying to convince me to go up there and play also (sign up). It is over a 4 hour drive for me It is not probable. I am going to drive 2+ hours this weekend for a Marquee!

It was mostly a lot of fun. The thing that worried me the most was what happened to me. (I drove over 2 hours to my first CTA event) I drew three mechs with no pilots that matched. My highest attack was 9
