Whooohoooo, it is finally my day! Alright I feel kind of bad that Warlordicon didn't have too many games played due to my over indulgence of Mexican food. I did however win 2 out of the 3 games played (3 out of 4 if Warlord wants to count the game demo at Recess) so I am not going to offer up too much sympathy. 12pm to 2pm - Carcassone....if we have time after Zxqueb hears all the great stories of the last few weeks. A quick preview; I was fired from a job I technically didn't actually work at and Vladd had the EPA called on him while at his new job. ( no it wasn't from the bean burritos ). 2pm to 5pm - Arkham Horror with The King In Yellow and Dunwich Horror Expansions. I shall continue to drive Warlord nuts with references to HP Lovecraft books he will never read and promise to look properly horrified every time he goes to R'yleh to close gates with stolen clue tokens. 5pm to 6pm - EAT! After saving the World....of Arkham at least , we'll eat. I'm cooking and willing to cook anything besides caviar or eat that crappy pizza again, so please call me with ideas. I need to know on Friday so I can get everything together. We will be eating cake for sure, as it's my birthday and all. 6pm to 8pm-ish Colossal Arena and Chrononaughts. I've been wanting to play CA while everyone is still awake and not burnt out on games. Lets go for some table talk and see who is the best at bluffing out their opponents. Chrononaughts with more than 3 people, 'nough said. 8pm to Jeff passes out - Oynxia followed by open gaming. Alright, I know I messed Oynxia up and am prepared to take you all on again. After reading the themes behind everyone else's decks I think the poor old girl is going to have a rough time of it....but at least this time you guys can say that you actually beat her fair and square. That doesn't mean I am going to go light on you as I am fully prepared to beat your face in and cackle while doing it, just Warlord has this thing about sucking up my poor whelps which is hard to compensate for. I was wondering if anyone can call Burton and invite him over as well. All the games I've listed are better with more people, with possibly the exception of Arkham Horror. More people = better chance of beating the god. Which would just prove Zxqueb right, the game is too easy. ;D Let's give it a go, the King In Yellow expansion makes us waste plenty of resources and should even it out. See you all Saturday!

Hey hey! Schedule sounds awesome, lets compare it to my Saturday schedule. 10AM: Wake up, eat a waffle. Curse the living world. 10:30 AM: Drive to f**king work. 11AM-8PM: Work all saturday because my boss is a tool. 8PM: Guess I can come over as Jeff is passing out and all the games are already played. f**k work and the people who scam the system. This just further proves humanity is going further down the toilet. -W

WHAT!? Why are you working? &*$#@ Grrrrr. Well I guess that means we'll have to play Carcassonne all day. *sigh* So sad.
We can save Arkham for when you get off work and just save Oynxia for another day. My dreams of playing more than three people at CA or Chrononaughts will just have to remain that.
Hey, you should call in sick! Tell them you have a bad case of... Agromeglia.... and not only is it very itchy but it may also be contagious. The words, "itchy" and "contagious" make any employer hesitant to call you in. Well unless they actually have the same disease you are just pretending to have...
Crap. Well let us know what's going on. I'll save you some food.
Snootches!

For what it's worth, I built a new Navia army. It seems like it'll play pretty differently, which could be good or bad. It definitely seems more solid than the gulled rush one I built last time. I don't know if it'll be able to beat shelby's resource harvesting army. If we have time, I'd really like to play it once or twice.
Also, I'll probably not be able to get there until 1pm or so. I'll have to take off early-ish (not later than midnight) as well as I have to work an open house on Sunday and it wouldn't be good for me to do that with zero sleep. I am not really very coherent when I am tired.
So right now, I'm packing Navia, Carcassonne and WOW TCG. Should I bring anything else?

I worked on a second army last night that is sort of based on my gulled combo army that didn't work. What I liked about the combo army was that the opposing guys didn't really want to trade pieces since everything was so cheap. So keeping with that theme, built a checkmate army with ultra-low cost movers. We'll see how that goes.

The game day results are in! Carcassonne - The game started off with a previously unplayed expansion, The Count, which consists of a game piece that I still swear looks like Grimace of McDonalds fame.....sort of kills the regal sounding title, eh? All went well until Vladd and Zxqueb formed a silent pact that I would not be allowed to beat any faces in. Then it got ugly. Wasted city tiles to prevent my ridiculously over-sized city from ever completing, farmers being dropped willy-nilly and no dragon to clean up Vladds messes. Thanks to some careful planning and genius tile plays I managed to finish the enormous city and lap Vladd on the score track. Zxqueb gave me a run for my money and "hogged" all of the farmland. Well played indeed! Yes, but I still won...so Vegas Showdown - I'll make it short. I won this one as well. *sigh* Navia Drapt- All it took was a moments distraction, a bad placement of my piece and Zxqueb pounced. Yes gentleman I was soundly beaten and decided that I should start being a nice hostess by calling it a "draw" and letting others win sometimes. A great game Z, you caught me off guard with that one. Chrononaughts - Warlord makes an appearance for this one. Four player Chrononaughts goes considerably faster and makes it difficult to gather artifacts....well especially when Warlord has joined in on the silent pact with Zxqueb and Vladd to never allow me to win at that game again. Exactly how many items did you steal off me then pawn off for extra cards? Correct me if I am wrong but Vladd won the first game and Warlord won the second. I wasn't paying attention, I was still tramautized by the demon-monster-spawn showing up at the house and trying to tear the throats out of various kittens. At least the chili was good. Arkham Horror- We all randomly draw characters and once again Warlord is the hooker. I think the game should be played that way from now on, he makes a great lady of the night. It really makes his quests take on whole new meanings. I'll have to make this one short again, the librarian is starting to glare at me...we beat the god Yig, barely. Warlord went crazy, I died and it was up to Vladd and Zxqueb to finish off the beast. Considering we were all cursed causing us to only hit on 6's and Vladds inability to ever roll what he needed for the entire game it was a close call. They both knocked down Yig by bits and pieces and we beat the game.... It was fun guys, thank you for the birthday wishes and the great game play!

Well played indeed! Yes, but I still won...so I liked the count and no dragon -- It made for decidedly different strategies. It's interesting how much the inclusion of a given expansion changes the gameplay so drastically. There was no silent pact. You just had a crazy monster city. I was kicking myself for not closing that off early and throwing one of my own guys in the city. It just got so sprawling that we had to keep building it up because to complete the city was to win the game. And you did both. I really like this game. Simple, but deep. The bidding is cool. I feel like we are all still figuring out the strategies. I've replayed the battle in solitaire Z-computer mode. There are some very specific things to do to stop the bomb going off, but you really need to see it coming. And if you don't, blowing up massive amounts of the board is game winning. Again, no silent pact on my part. I just didn't know what I was doing, so I decided to cause chaos by stealing stuff. You just happened to be the person with the most toys. I've decided I just don't like co-operative games very much. I like Last Night on Earth because at least your team is playing against someone... tactics / strategy make a difference. With Arkham, everything just seems too random for me. On the other hand, I had fun playing, but I think that was more the company than the game for me (not to mention the Dave/prostitute inuendo). It WAS fun! I can't wait until the next one!

I had alot of fun. Everything is better with more people. Chrononaughts was great because no one could get anything done and Chaos in that game CAN lead to a win. I killed myself on purpose and drew into a win! Arkham is ALOT of fun with the new expansion but seems like its more a race to the Elder God now instead of a chance to win the regular way now. With 3 people we died instantly. It seems Arkham, at least with the King In Yellow is a 4 player game minimum now. And yes, me being a hooker does make for some really odd inuendo. Wood piles FTW!

Burton can't make it this weekend unfortunately. He is the night. Z For next game-a-con he'll have to be invited to that one as well. Give him a heads up on the schedule so he can plan for it if he wants to play. 'nough said. I wood like to point out that you only ever had encounters with men "needing your help". Carcassonne does change drastically with each new expansion and while the dragon does force you to not place meeples so you can gain the faerie, it was a great piece to use to clean up mistakes....unless everyone figured out that strategy and steered the dragon the other way. Still a great game of stab-each-other-in-the-back and one of my top 5 favorites. I'll have to agree with you. I love Arkham just because I am a fan of HP Lovecraft. The more we play it though the more I realize that I'm competitive and prefer me winning over everyone winning for the greater good. Not one to sacrifice my co-players so I can win *ahem* clue tokens *ahem* I'll gladly play the team game but like the challenge of competing against everyone for the win.
