We played Dreamblade last night at the Twinsburg library and had 6 players. I played: Scissors x2 CC scout Castle Charm Knight of Dusk and Dawn Jack in the box Knight of strife and joy x2 probablility walker Mirrorman x2 Sir Glorious All seeing mage inscribed axebeast Pearlthorn dragon knight It's certainly not a tier 1 army, but it was loads of fun to play. In fact it was probably the most fun I've had playing dreamblade for a while. I attribute that to the loss of the 1ks. If there were still 1ks going on, I would have been testing/playtesting as would other people. Last night there were all fun bands which was a really nice change of pace. There was only 1 drake, only 1 fear control piece and only 1 charm in 6 armies. I didn't see any butchers at all (although there was a knight of autumn gate in play). Ron even had some of the new stuff which was pretty neat. It makes me want to order a cheap case even more . It was great to get out some pieces which haven't seen play in a while (Sir glorious being the MVP of the army in several matches... 4/5 scissors FTW). Let's hear it for casual play (even if I do still miss the big tournament scene)!

I'd forgotten how much fun Dreamblade was. It was nice to loose the scragglemaws once again. I guess I've always been a casual player at heart anyway (either that or I'm a real bad warband builder since my old tournement band fit right in with the "fun" bands). I hope we can keep finding people who'll play it. We should have a Dreamblade reunion trounement sometime. Maybe we could find a store that'll host it in the hopes of getting rid of their rapidly devalueing stock.

Yep, dreamblade was a great game. I know you could always talk jahschwa into holding an event, but I know thats a long drive for most of you. It would be interesting to see what type of an effect the last set has on the game.

@ Paul: Your band is good in the same way that the butcher / corpsebuild army is good. You have big dumb guys that are hard to get rid of. But your band also doesn't have the spawn phase tricks that are really needed to control the pace of the game with consistency.
@ Greg: Did you buy any of the new set? What are your thoughts on it? I haven't even really looked at it beyond Ron's couple of pieces that he played. Maybe I'll take a look this weekend on dreamcatcher.

I didn't get any of the new set, I was going to wait to see what wizards would do with the game.

Yeah, I always knew I was at a disadvantage with my band, even just swapping out the the knights of tomorow with warchrams would have probably taken it up a notch, but I do so hate to use the same peices everyone else is using. I liked having a band with pieces no one expected to see. And there was nothing like the having a rage drake and his entourage storm into a cell against a couple scragglemaws throw two handfulls of dice and when the dust cleared have a scragglemaw still standing. The expression on my oppenet's face was always priceless . Of course when they realised I was only throwing 4 dice back it went a way , but you can't have everything. On another note the current low ebay price on Night Fusion cases is about $48. If we can get 6 people willing to spend $8 we could have a sealed event and find out how the new pieces play. Come on you know you want to.

OK, I'd be in, and I could bring my trusty sidekick if it's not on a school night, so we're halfway there already. All we'd need is three more players (or 9 more and we could get two cases).
