Has anyone tried a swarm warband? Do they work or do they peter out too quickly? I was thinking about trying the following list on Vassel at some point:
3x bomb dogs 3x redcaps 2x dr ape 2x scissors 1x cannibal 2x samurai 2x carrion spiker 1x Darkheart cottage
There is enough damage potential there to really mess up someones day and enough little things to pump DHC really big, which should provide nice control of C3. The spikers can come in late in the game if I lose my monkeys and have a huge graveyard.
Comments?

Meh, not too bad. The problem lies in the fact that even if you get a bunch of guys out, people with high life are still going to be a problem. You swarm with little guys, they get medium sized guys out that come back. I don't like the idea of swarming too much since I think a resource curve in this game is too important.

The redcaps at least have a power of 4 each, so one of them can give a good boost. And bomb dogs can explode and do a further 4 to EVERY enemy in a cell.

I have to agree with Dave, I think the swarm will not have the staying power for the late game. In early rounds you can certainly win turns quickly, but your figures are so fragile that a warband thats sitting on the curve will overwhelm you. Valor in particular would tie up and destroy your weinies and you would not have an answer. Chessmaster in any of it's forms would completely neutralize the advantage gained by having a lot of pieces and would have very little trouble manipulating the board to kill your figures, especially since their defenses are so low.

In the next set, there is a creature called Fleshworm Broodsire which has the following stats: 8M 5 4/9
(scoring cell)(Pay 0 spawn)Awaken: Remove this creature from the game then put each creature in your craveyard into your reserves.
It might be a good unit to use in the context of a swarm band to bring back some staying power into the late game.
