The question is who are you butchering? I would want to play the CC's and the Scarab's onto the field. Maybe a play by play would help.

Any tweak suggestions off the top of your head? I'm going to try running this tonight, probably. Z Any suggestions I could think of now could make the team worse, I'd need to take the time to break down the turns. Or as warlord says "play by play"

I'm playing butchers in one of two ways. Either to corpsebuild the drake and spawn it ubercheap or throw something that I need to get into play right away. For example on a 6 spawn with a blademiller in play and baxar in a scoring cell, I might butcher a CCS and call it on the same turn on a 7 it might be a charm. If I can gambit it becomes feasible to hit both a butcher and a HK or a second miller or if both millers are in play a butcher and a drake. Yowza.

Well, I played 4 games last night. One with Hellbred + one well, one with a straight well/manipulation army and two with the blademiller army.
1) hellbred- I played a version more like pip's but tweaked for my playstyle. It ran fine without the miller.
2) Wells - I frusterated my opponent who felt like he couldn't do anything. And it's true. With a turn 2 crypt worm, I had him pretty much locked out of the game.
3) miller/baxar. I won both games, but I'm not sure it was a good test of the army. I had a hard time setting up the accelleration with miller / baxar. And I had a hard time prioritizing my spawns for the army. I spawned barag when I could, worms when I couldn't. But after that was done, I wasn't sure whether to put down baxar or millers. I could never decide when was a good time to corpsebuild the drake. I got some "free" charms and CCSs into play late game which was nice, but I felt as if the game was locked at that point anyway. I'll need to practice with it some more. The jury is still out.

It seems that Sam used some "kind" words to describe our version of the hellbred team, in the last article he wrote. I'm interested to see how his version will preform.

At the risk of sounding like an a-hole, I think Black comes off as a pretentious prick when he posts. I know he is one of the best players on record, but still. I find his articles very difficult to read as his opinons come off badly. I find it irritating that he sits in an ivory tower and pokes holes in armies that have better records than his own. Maybe it's just his writing style and he's not the guy who got his ass kicked a half dozen times a day in high school.
Don't be that guy, Sam.

I guess the way I look at it is that if he is right in his assumtions, hes just an ass. On the other hand if he's wrong, we should thank him since we'll never have to deal with mirror matches at the 50k.

I've been saying that Sam Black has come off as a prick since I first read ANYTHING by him online. I seem to remember him writing an article about "What the Dreaming Dragons didn't Know" about the 10k, but he bombed out worse than most people. He always seems to critique down to the point of saying the band is trash, when it comes in 3rd in a tournament. Did he even play? Did he even try? Does he even have ANY first hand expirience with the band?
He's just an elitist. He thinks hes the best because of his ranking and the fact that Wizards asks him to write for them. Charlie may be better than him, Matt might, Lumpy might, even I may be better than him, but he invented Mono-Valor and he was the one who realized that Gambit was too good.
F him. People like that make me sick.

I'm not a fan of mr black, and its to my opinion that he caused the stale metagame during base and baxor's war. He told everyone to play chessmaster and then when baxor was out to just play kitsune. He practiaclly ruined the creativity of most players in the game by shunting their builds, rather than building upon them.

As you get to meet some of the top ranked players, Sam is like the bad guy you don't want to win, and Rob Hatch is the nice guy that everyone roots for. SO I think we need a player like sam to hate, so we have a good vs evil.

Oooh, Oooh!! I called it!! I called it!!!! I knew Black was a pile of $#!t way back at the first 10K at DragonCon. I so called this one! During a tense match, the thingysmoke asked if I was 6-1, I told him I was more like five foot eleven, and he didn't even smirk. I'll show ya whose funny....

hmm i think we may need to rename this thread the "Sam black bashing thread with alittle hellbred discussion"
Ya, I noticed sam didn't have much of a sense of humor either. He also lacks the ability to talk about anything but dreamblade.
