1k Update for the band.
I came in 5th on tiebreakers. This is after I scooped to Scott so he could get his points in the 4th round.
I mized everyone but Ben Stoll, who I hear is good, and it came down to last initiative. I never had any problems all day. Josh, this is a contender.
BTW, Matt got 4th, another standard victory for Matt!
Team Digression took 4-5 in a 28 man tourney, not bad.

Congrats to all who went, and by the way most of the big names in the game are a bit over rated. Heck I'm not that great of a player either, but thats due to the small amount of players left in the game. I think your team puts you at a 5-10% disadvantage to your opponents, but by playing a non mainstream team, you help to take away the importance of the initiative dice and gives you an opportunity to out play your opponents.
Also note most of your opponents are used to playing the initiative game, and don't understand alot of the basic fundimentals of the game giving you a skill advantage of about 30% over most of your opponents.
This is a simular concept I use when playing spikers, I remove alot of the importance of the initiative dice at a cost of about 10% over all power level. I actually dislike teams like aviax reaper, hell's wells, and barag barrag due to their dependancies on certain spawn amounts and initiative. For example if hose teams don't get an early spawn of at least 8-9 on the first few turns, they lose.

So my army gives me a 5-10% disadvantage right off the bat, yet I get a 30% advantage due to my army and my skill, so I've got a 20-25% advantage? I guess I'll take that as a compliment.

It looks cute. You'll steal a bunch of games because no one will understand what you are doing. Why did you cut puppeteer in your current build?
I think I'm just going to play a Passion/Valor mix I'm comfortable with.

Passion Valor mix is still a tough nut to crack. Matt still has trouble beating it as evidence at the 1k at Origins. (ask him for details.)
I never played Puppetteer in mine. I don't know if I'd like to have one honestly, its a solid piece but it never crossed my mind. Its cute and NO ONE expects it.
I think I'll call it "The Spanish Inquisition".

I honestly don't blame the army at all. My band did its job, I just didn't pay the f**king dice rolling bill at all during my matches. My army always failed against Fleshless Reaper and I faced it twice against 2 random schlubs. It was annoying but it ate me pretty well and I upset that the army I built to destroy the metagame didn't fight the metagame at all. Oh well, thats just me though, if I didn't have bad luck I'd have no luck at all. At least I don't like this game, now I don't care if my pieces sit my garage for the next 20 years because this game BLOWS!
