The FAQ'ed the twins again. Is it enough?
Probably, it is enough! It is pretty complex a solution though! I think they are going to be very tricky to use now and not so overwhelming.

I couldn't remember when the ECC was.. if the changes were soon enough. I know it really gives you very little time to decide what to play! As I read it I think it makes them fairly insignficant. Time to think of new armies

That does make it extremely challenging.. I actually was playing the bye round today and played my suggested Chikako armor (only 450) It actually did better than I thought. It didn't have to fight the Solitude though. That is going to be a nasty piece. I take it you don't have a solitude (atlas) Elite?

The atlas has some issues but I really like the pilot ability. In the Rock Paper Scissors of mechwarrior. It is a big ROCK!
SO I guess the twins can use CEC's again? I am just reading through the FAQ entry!

They way I see the twins is they are a really expensive Tankdrop
They have 36 inch att 12/att1 range or 39 inch voor 6 damage. for 326 points
i prefer 2 Kelswa drops with a Merc FP for those points.

The twins are a little more accurate The twins are a lot more fragile than tank drop though!

Has anyone played with the twins after the last rules change? What were the results?

The trouble with the Tribbles were that they were so cute, then you had them everywhere.
The trouble with the fix is it seems to make the twins cute and playable but I'm still hearing complaints. If they'd just removed the second order they'd still be playable and very good pieces. That may have been the best fix.

I think they are a ton less effective but the new rule seems a little confusing to most!

The new ruling in essence diassallows them from getting 4 orders, and then disallows them from using mulitple on turns after they received tokens. It slows them down a lot, but its still not the best-est fix that they could have.
The wording is retarded, but I got after I read it a 3rd time. It could be made clearer, but I doubt it.

So, Twin 1 has no tokens and activates. Twin 2 can now get a free order (and a click of heat) and can then activate a second time using its own order (so thats 3 orders for the price of 2).
I'm not sure they can be ruled out completely. If, for example, they both start a turn with no tokens, Fortune could charge 24 inches and hit for 4 damage, Glory would then activate and run 24 inches (click of heat as per the FAQ) and could either shoot direct (click of heat) or even assault into the rear arc (another 2 clicks) for 2 with pulse (yet another click) or 3 with double rate Seeing as tehy can now use gear again). Admittedly, the second twin would be running hot, but they've just slammed a potential 10 clicks of damage into a target. They also bring with them 170 points of support.
Yes they're fragile and moving them around with arty will go a long way to preventing them with the opportunity to start a turn with no tokens. I'm still in 2 minds whether I need to build in some anti-twin mechanism or to just discount them.
