World of Warcraft Minis. Bring 3 figure armies or I'll bring enough to play.

I fear it's come to that time of year again where I'm a fair weather gamer and the weather sounds anything but fair for later on today, so I don't think I'll make it today. I was really looking forward to trying out the game too. Let me know how it goes.

Paul,
That's too bad! I played a bit this weekend with Dave. I really like the way it's set up. There are a lot of little tactical decisions to make in every turn. Especially since you need to keep an eye to the scoring ticks. I'll let you know how it goes tonight.

With the weather being as bad as it was, it was just Ron and I. We did manage to get in a couple of games. I had a horde army for the first game which reduced armor on crits (wilton, undead warrior + deylan, Blood elf rogue) and a fantastic all around shaman (I forget her name, but she has a strong melee attack which crits for a magic attack and has 3/3 armor/resist). Ron played monster faction with a werewolf, a murloc mage and chen (legendary pandaren brewmaster). Ron won the game, but it was fairly even until the end. I made a bad tactical decision to go after the werewolf when I should have hit the murloc. Ron probably still would have won the game if we had a rematch because he was getting the hang of the action bar cards and didn't use them for the first part of the game. That gave me a bit of an advantage.
The second game, we played only 2 figs. Ron took Chen and the murloc. I played a double alliance druid team. Both had cat form (because cat is for fite). One had a healing spell and one had entangling roots. The roots won me the game because it locked chen in place and kept him from pounding my durids. The druids ended up blasting chen with moonfire spells and taking him out for 8 points (since he is legendary) and stepping into the VC zone for the last 2 points.
I need to play some more, but it tick control is huge. If you can take someone out of the game for 3-4 ticks, it can come out to about 20-25% of the game which is fairly huge. Combos are good, but if one member of your combo is dead, the rest of your team can be at a pretty significant disadvantage until it respawns. That makes your priority in targetting fairly interesting.
Anyway, I had fun. We are planning on meeting next Tuesday as well. We can do WoW again if you think you'll make it if the weather is good. If not, maybe we can play Red November (a co-op game about gnomes on a sinking sub).

The game sounds good and I like what I've seen of the mini's. I'd like to try try it out Tuesday, but the forcast is currently ify. It's normally about an hour drive and that get's much longer if the snows flying. I'll make it if I can.

It looks like we are only going to be getting a dusting of snow today, so hopefully I'll see you at the library!
