Its the longevity of the Merc over the WH one that wins it for me. After a couple of clicks, its still a rock, the WH one begins to nose dive and is dead about the same time that the Merc version picks up IT. They grey armour also wards off those TTLs to a degree.
Biggest problem I found with the Merc/WH army was the lack of choice of pieces when you're trying to get the points to tally.
I forgot to mention that Mark's winning army was beautifully painted and based - one of the Kelswas even had a tank commander figure looking out of the cupola - superb to look at. I'll send Z some photos some time soon.
