As we know there is offensive and defensive equipment and FP cards, so I ask which do you think is better a defensive oriented army or an offensive one?

I perfer Defensive armies over Offensive. Sure, you have to wait to strike, but with offensive army, you have to make the first move often, usually requiring you to move forward and strike. This gives the defensive player the advantage of watching to see what your strategy is, and learning a counter to it.

I really prefer the defensive army that forces you to move where you don't want to go!
One of the worlds players kept saying that I gave him absolutely no options!

At one time, I would have said defensive. Lately, I think I have been moving more towards an offensive game.

Occasionaly I will play an offensive army... I can play them but I tend to be more defensive!
Although I have played and esparanza with LIAO ATV's and SA LI/ROTS. That tends to be a very agressive army!

I generally play the Offensive army. Pre-AoD you could sit back and be defensive and have the same chances. Now, whenever I sit back and make the defensive army, I get I disagree beat left and right when my opponents make the opening shot. Therefore, I make my offensive army as Defensive as I can.
IE in my RotS army, I play Esperanza, one of the best beat-sticks I've ever played. Shes got alot of firepower, but instead of going over-board with Exp. Pulse or Re-enginered Lasers I use Decoy. Once you come over that hill you were behind and you make the shot, you need to make sure that you won't get a more powerful counter-attack.

Defensive played armies tend to get chewed up by arti and formation drops. Offesive agressive armies can null that, but at a risk to themselves. Being average is a good choice but can get hammered by the extremes.

I generally consider an arty army to be defensive! It is more forcing you to come to me!
