Hey guys,
This time of the year is historically slow for Mechwarrior excitement, especially this year with the new set being delayed. I've been organizing ALL of my pieces over the past few weeks and thought it would be good practice to build some faction pure armies. These are armies that I would play down here at the local venue and I know would do well here. How do you think they would do where you are at? The goal should be to make very competitive faction pure armies, ones that could go against mixed faction armies and meta-armies. Here is one Stormhammer pure that I played once. What do you think and I'll tell you how it did later.
Hellstar with Trebor Ydek recruited Anat Combat Eng x2 Towed Thunder Launchers x3 ATV x4 Faction Pride 448 points
The TTLs can move in a formation together up the board or put two in the Anat and formate that with two ATVs, depending on the army you are going against. If the TTLs stick together, put the 2 Comb Eng in the Anat and keep it close to the Hellstar to deal with infantry(they have 2 damage Anti-Personel). The Hellstar, "Hammer", moves up and takes a position in the middle of the board, waiting for the TTLs to drop pogs and force things into its range.
I have two other SH armies I'll share later. What do you think?

Sounds pretty good. The Stormhammers Hellstar is great with pulse and a heat dial thats not as bad as the Davion one. The Engineers are a nice addition as well, I wouldn't have seen them as a good infantry screen killer. The ATV's only have a limited range since they only infiltrate 20, but they still have numbers on their side. The Stormahmmers TTL's are the best TTL's so thats go for you too. Their FP is one of the more useful ones as well. I don't think would do so bad. If I own the Anat and Engineer's I'll try it soon for some change.

You need water but we all know that with that mech. It is an interesting army. If it hits it is going to be impressive.. It is a decent faction pure army!

I might prefer the HS Hellstar for the better combat dial perfomance tho... loses brawling and camo and gains pulse and IT.... I like that!
