You know, last night I had fun playing mechwarrior. It's been a while since I have had just a really awesome time with an army. It had good synergy, good support, a neat concept and it went 2/0.
My powerhouse?
Cinders!
List was something like this:
Cinders w/kelly and IT BR hatchetman
rots bishop BR fa shih BR oni x2
rots bishop LI combat techs BR bypass infantry x2
HS TTL
BR mortar
Assorted other infantry
game 1: Captured / bypassed a SC avalanche, captured headmaster with bypass coming, but my opponent conceeded. Messed up a tank.
game 2: Heated up a 3 jade hawk army which exploded from the heat. Used my capture drop as a firing formation instead of a capture team. Gave them more heat. They exploded more and shut down. Clean up.
With everyone playing mechs nowadays, I forgot how valuable flamers can be, especially on an assault order.
Now to mess with this army and make it slightly more competitive...
Heh. I used "cinders" and "competitive" in the same post!

Flamers lock down a Mech.
Been awhile I saw the combo but I remember the old SC CBA is a similiar role. You will no doubt like that new Mech or ability that will do 2 heat on range.
It is a nice sweet package.

It is suprising out how much the game has changed. I sort of am awaiting rocky terrain but I am sort of terrified of it also. It is going to make High Defense Mechs played even more often!
You are a better man than I. I don't think I have ever considered playing Cinders! It is time to try some new army types out!
