Well, after Jeff and I have played a few rounds ourselves and with Brian the L5R Moon Master I have come to a few decisions. -L5R rocks. -Spider Clan rocks -Mantis rocks my face -Scorpion is tricksy -Phoenix blows. Thats the short, the long is Jeff and I have gone long bouts with each other. My spider deck, after ripping all the good cards out of the Phoenix deck, is pretty solid with Brian making some changes. It seems really strong but definetly hating the Shadowlands cards f**ks my couch. Jeff mantis deck is insane. Every card comes packed with arrows, and it blows ass. Half my sh*t dies right off the bat because either I attack and he has first action or he attacks me with Naval, which always attacks first, and my sh*t dies. The guys are more expensive, nothing is boxable too much but they're guys are tough. Jeffs Scorpion deck seems cool. Assassins that try and f**k your couch by dishonoring and killing guys out of combat. Seems neat. Could be fun. My Phoenix deck got the axe real quick. To quote Brian, "Phoenix sucks." And they probly will. Spells in this game are a mind f**k as they have to be played on your turn and you have to know what coming. Seems bad even for a neurotic gamer like me. Dragon seems cool as they do alot of stuff well plus are good at Enlightenment. I haven't touched their decks yet but they may be next. All in all from what Jeff and I have played it seems like alot of fun. Matt, Jeff and I need to get together for a games day soon again so we play that together. My grading: B+ -Dave PS: Peasant Vengeance can lick my balls.

The coolest thing about L5R is the storyline. I love that each clan has a flavor and that people tend to be passionate about their factions.
Take a note Wizkids. Faction purity = good in all games.

You left out the Ratlings...They rocked your face WAY more than the Mantis ever dreamed of!

Wha?! Dave told me last night that they were no good and that they only won because enlightenment win is too hard to pull off! Z

That must be why he kept scooping when the rats out numbered his personalities 4 to 1...

No, I was saying they were no good to get Matt into a false sense of security. Way to blow the cover Jeff. You rock at secrecy.
