I've played a number of sealed games on Vassal now and have some opinions about really great pieces in sealed. Some are obvious big beats like the world eater and the pearlthorn dragon knight, but the others...
Mutation guys: Since there is no other energize powers and very little skirmish to take them out early, mutation hits a LOT in sealed, having spawn adavantage over your opponents is a very good thing.
Grenadier: I like them because they stick around. Even with a 3 defense, your opponent is lothe to kill them in many situations.
Seraph: Multiblade advance. low cost. Nuff said. Octarilla: Even without DHC, this is a solid game changing piece.
Tattooed squashbug. Great ability and high enough life to get it off when you need it.
Aviax Cowboy: Love the ability to take your opponent's piece and beat them with it. I love it even more with lord slobber. I love it even more than that with LS in the reserves and a mutation guy poised to strike.
Probability walker: Being able to exchange which enemy you are striking is a hugely powerful ability.
Most of the locations aren't worth it due to high aspect costs and the location hate in the set. I rather like the hut and the warfang keep for their abilities though.

When we had a sealed last sunday some of my fav pieces were.
Ravencloak Visionary: These are SOLID Valor pieces that rock. I had 2 of them and they ruled.
Whispering Imp: Great little guy. Got out my Doctor Agonys and other fun toys.
Hivling Overlord: Not a guarantee in sealed to get, but his Venom Cloud worked wonders vs people.
Seraph: Cheap in a sealed enviornment. Sat next to my tower of Unquenched Flames all 3 games and made a difference.
Tower of UF: I played it, it worked, it won me game 2.
Crazy Passion Bug with Crit 3 and Ferocity: Teh Roczorzs'!
Toxis Sludger: Good times.
This set seems really fun. Hope constructed feels the same.
