I miss high-level play.... I miss being suprised or caught off gaurd by a really good move that my opponent set up without me having the slightest. I'm miss Ohio. WHOOPS!! I meant I miss Ohio.
Anyways, Let us know of an "awsome" "off the wall" "never saw it coming" move that someone pulled off on you or that you saw someone else pull off on some unassuming sucker. Don't tell me about your best moves or how you "set up this one guy by baiting him with a gimped Locust". Show some appreciation for those you've played against and save that other stuff for another thread.

I remember a 600 pt game versus a pretty good player. It was one of the campaign a few months ago. It was an ugly army. 8 Liao ATV's. ROTS Heckion, Peacemaker. I had a Tank Drop in a Merc Zahn. He moved up a couple of ATV's. I broke chikako away. He had peacemaker ready to take a shot on a Zahn. I thought about breaking the Zahn away with the tank inside. I though.. Nah if he hits he will salvage and tank will drop out. unfortunately he had setup me up badly... I forgot about the Liaos/ROTS Sit alliance card. He had set on the other side of the table and I should have known the army but I forgot. He set me up good. He Surrounded my zahn with atv's and only needed like 6's to hit and salvaged zahn and destroyed Kelswa. Fortunately I got lucky and hit peacemaker while he was doing dances of joy But I tell you the Sit Alliances can give you suprises if you aren't paying attention to them!

one of my most memorable "What the.....!?" moments came in that one big tournament. In the first, my opponent was playing tank drop and TGR drop with arty support, atvs and some commands. Well, I bring my army up slowly and I'm really pounding him with my arty and keeping him tied up with my atvs. I'm keeping my bigger pieces out of his drop range when..... he knowingly pushes his damaged zahn to move its full speed and salvages it, releasing the TGRs that were inside and getting them in range to attack my pieces that I thought were safe. That he knew that a push on his zahn was going to salvage it and release the cargo was awsome. I love when people know thier dials like that and see the potential for situations like that. +His move swung the whole tide of the game. Where as in the first thirty-forty minutes I had control of the match, in that last while I was sure I was done for. Man, I miss playing you guys.

Matt and I had the Battle of the Indirect Fire. It was pretty screwed up. Poor matt had his mechs behind blocking which should be safe seeing that I didn't have Arty or streaks. So in my tipical who cares I'll shoot any way fasion, I planted 8 clicks of damage on Blitz and two on Harpy. Harpy made a DFA attempt on my Segi and some how failed. the Next turn she was dead. Now I really should have won at this point, but Matt had something totally unheard of in mechwarrior. ...... INFANTRY!! ;D. In a sad twist of fate the better part of two JF sylphs and a formation of snipers took out 580 pts of mech. It was a wierd and frustrating match for the both of us.

Oh man, that was excellent! I was really digging that you were taking those indirect homing beacon shots, hitting, and opening up with your 18 inch monster. Awesome!
Another thing that taught me a lot about the game was watching a game between Mike (DragonDawg, not Southpaw or X-Sythe -- There are too many of you!) and someone else at Chardon. His opponent set up a tankdrop (Maxim / Schmitt) at his mech (which was hot). Instead of backing off his mech (risking shutdown), he used infantry to take up the place that the tank would have to drop at the mech, negating the drop. Man, I geeked out about that for weeks.
Other key moments for me.. Watching Wayne formation drop with his mech. The first time I saw it, I was floored... What a great way to play the odds game.
Danny Boyle won a game that I was slaughering him by taking vc3 and salvaging his mechs and vehicles. That'll teach me to spread around damage too much!
The LI/ROTS tank drop army I played against at nationals.... you mean I have to protect myself from formations 360 degrees around my forces!?! With Barrens in effect?!!? Oh sh*t!
