We had a suprise today!

Mike (dragondawg) showed up at a game I was running


My son played against him. My son played pretty well. It wasn't a bad game. DragonDawg took VC1 and 2. My son missed a couple of good shots. Although Dragondawg is starting to believe in the karma of bad dice rolling he DFA'ed Esparanza with a JF goshawk and missed . It wasn't a day of glorious rolling.

The only really good rolls were when DragonDawg and I decided to play a game for fun afterwards.. We both roll initiative and we both rolled 18's he had a first strike army.. He rolled 14 second time.. I rolled... 7

DragonDawg is a great guy and is a really good player.

I had such a good time this weekend and meeting and playing baw was just an added bonus. A big bonus! What a great guy, and an even better Mechwarrior. I wish I could be around more often to play and talk with "The Man", as I like to say. I know I could pick up a ton of knowledge and insight. His son Brandon is a heck of a player too. His army, (8 LI ATVs Esperanza with pilot and reactive armor) was mean! A little bit longer and a roll or two and it would have been lights out for me.

That is Trevor's army my son was playing He saw it and made it his! I dread playing it.

I have told him he needed to try another army. Some people were getting frustrated getting beat by the same army all the time He varied some but still loves that Liao/ROTS alliance.

DragonDawg had the same insight I did about the Liao Long tom's.. "Those things are accurate. I got to get me some of those" (paraphrased)

If I am able, willing (and invited) to go to Worlds next year I will have to get together with DragonDawg and play a couple of games to get me in the mindset.
