Awesome. Just Awesome. Glad I never bought any or traded for any. Sorry Jeff. At least all I have to worry about is Temple Goodstuff and I can have smooth sailin'. -W

Well -- I can't say I'll be sorry to see her go! And it's not as if mono Valor isn't still strong.

I've been thinking about this ban this morning. While I think it's a good thing, it makes bloodcut largely unplayable again. I would have liked to see it as an errata to make Kit unique or make her work like a pearlthorn castle (i.e.; only adjacent can be affected). But again.. I'm totally ok with the ban in the greater scheme of things. I bet it won't be long before the aviax firebrand follows suit.
It'll be interesting to see what this does to the metagame. My predictions:
Spawn phase kills will still be the upper end of tier 1 with Octy's cottage and warcry of the reaper. Mono valor can still hold it's own. Wienie rush gets reborn (yay) as does huskmaster. Big temple beats will remain a powerhouse. Rocketcombos will be back with the slaughterwheels. Lots of anti location tech will see play. re-establishment of chess-style bands since bands will need to shift back to older-style movement effects. There is room for more crazy jank in the meta since of the baxar's meta, Kitbeats got rolling the quickest as it didn't need to establish real estate on the board.
I'm so glad she's gone!

Awesome. Just Awesome. Glad I never bought any or traded for any. Sorry Jeff. -W Don't feel bad for me. I only traded for one and she isn't even in my warband. Feel bad for Southpaw. He won't be able to pin me in my spawn row anymore I think I'm doing just find with my double raging vanguard. It ain't exactly finesse, but it works! I like the ban better than errata, since everything you need to know is on the base, having invisible words there kind of sucks. After a few sets we might see an unrestricted environment, so don't throw them all away yet. -vladd

I actually think the ban is kind of bad for the environment, the Kit team kept the double temple statigies and a few other things in check somewhat balancing the game. By removing them you create an environment that consists of a "temples" warband and an anti location style environment. Obviously some bands will have both parts, but the end result will raise the cost to aquire a temple dramatically. Last I recall the temples are now going for more than the regular charms.

I'm not sure I agree with you there. I don't think temple vs anti-temple will stifle the game. Right now, a spawn accelleration engine is 3-4 pieces in a band. Anti-location is 1-3 easily splashable and varied pieces. While I do see the need to have one or the other in a warband right now, that is a pretty small % of a band. It leaves 75-80% of every band MORE open than it would have been with Kitsune in the mix. I expect to see a greater mix of army archtypes appear. If kit wasn't banned, we'd have kit + location hate at the very top end of armies, I think. Z

well after the ban takes place how many non temple statigies are there? I've played a few games and the anti location peices don't seem to be good enough, i guess time will tell.

I guess so -- The new set is constructed-legal for the tournaments this weekend, so test away guys and let us all know your findings!

With the New set inplace, i've seen seen alot of double temple bands on Vassel (aviax reaper, dealing with dragons, Octorilla control, slaughterwheel, and P/V/F builds). I'd like to know what you guys see at your local tournaments dominating the events (unless its a kit build).

We played last weekend -- Temple is obviously still good, but there are a number of good anti-temple/no-temple strategies starting to emerge. Of particular note, I think the octy-bands are good no-temple bands and will be good enough that they cause some problems to the fatty armies. There are also some fast-win bands emerging that are extremely difficult to stop with big temple armies... and moreso if you are depending on bloodhawk.

I'm hoping so too. Post away Josh!
I like the sludger. He's a beast with a very strong ability. After playing it some, I found I also like the arsonist. Banishing is almost better than destroying a location as it helps create a bigger spawn deficit between you and your opponent. Run in conjuntion with Sprite, you can really keep your opponent's board pinned down. The Grenadier is ok, but more of a neat trick than an ability good enough to build a band around. He's best run with appease and buzzclaw.
I have some lists which are under construction. I'll post them after some more testing.
