I LOVE the mech players in this area. We just had a National Qualifier with a "No Twins" gentleman's agreement. It was a lot of fun and kept the insanity to a minimum. Awesome!

Armies used, battle reports? Ok... My army: BR Solitaire Scott Graves HD TTL HD Centaur BA ROTS Bishop M Kelswa ROTS Bishop Elite Thunderbird BA Vet Thunderbird BA WH CBA HL Combat Techs True Grit 1st Game: Played against Southpaw who was running Bartleby, WH Kelswa Drop, ATVs, 2x hadur arty. I played Mountain Range, He played a mission card. My BR solitaure basically floated around the board, being a big mostly unhittable target while I picked off support. At the end of the game, I had lost a couple of infantry, he had lost everything but bartleby. Win with 3VCs 2nd Game: Played against Heavyarms. He ran Esperanza + LOADS of infantry. I perfect dayed his PC as terrain placement was key to winning this one. I got the kelswa / formation drop on Esperanza, pressed the attack with my solitaire. I lost it in the process, but it tied up the big girl long enough to hit again with a drop and take it out on subsequent turns. The rest was cleanup. Win with 3VCs 3rd game: played against lunaya1978. She ran 2 WH kelswas, one in formation with infantry and one in a WH R10. She also ran a WH Mjolnir. On the 1st turn, she ran the Mjolnir right up into a very vulnerable position. I dropped with Kelswa+formation and crit missed. She fired back, but missed. Next turn... same story... crit miss. My solitaire CC assaulted and cracked the WH mech. My dice got back to normal after that, with my arty cracking the WH Kelswa formation and reloading my drops to take care of r10 drop. Took my horray for the underdogs mission, but not VC3. Win with 3VCs. Won the qualifier, but since I was already qualified, it went to second place. Z

Yeah, those battles are always nail biters. Mike is an outstanding player, in addition to knowing a thing or two about the rules. As for more detail... Hrm. I've been sitting here trying to remember how the game went and can't get enough of the details fixed in my mind to be accurate about it. Terrain was like this:
Terrain had 1 peanut hindering (turned to blocking) close to Mike's DZ and facing out, one straight blocking ~1/2 way up to my left and two blocking pieces to the right that weren't really engaged.
The flow of the game went like this... Every time Mike moved Bartleby up, I based him in the rear arc with my solitaire, but could never tag a hit. Even when my solitaire was doing other things, he was missing AOs to hit it. I used the solitaire to lock down his hadurs a bit, though most of my army was immune with blue armor. I hit a transport with a kelswa drop. He dropped his kelswa before I could kill the transport the following turn. I forget what he fired at, but he either missed or didn't do enough damage b/c he forgot to prime it. My Solitaire based the kelswa on the side. My troops advanced. I managed to take out the kelswa and bishop and threaten bartleby who fled. My units started on his support, keeping high value targets away from his mech. When time was called, his support was gone and I had lost combat techs and my TTL.
I think that about covers the game. I seem to remember that Mike wasn't having a good day for dice rolls, either. He can add on if I forgot anything.

You are like me.. The games starts to fade from memory after a short while. Not Priiming his Kelswa really hurt although I have had plenty of those bad day rolls and those are the worse!
