I see some of the "Spoiler Lists" has Morningstar Command HQ's on them. I have a question. How many people use these in their armies?
How many people have ever used them? I don't think I have ever used one even in sealed!

Dear BAW,
I dont use much out of any sets only the pieces I rate competitive if you ask me what are the good mechs from say domination it comes down to 4 maybe 5 mechs some inf.
It also help i only buy singles saves alot of money even if you go for the must have pieces like the twins.
Been going for singles since dark age, in the beginning I could take my whole collection with me where ever I went.
Cant do that now.
Ill see the whole set take in account what I need and order that nothing more.
Regards E130

From the spoiler list, looks like Vanguard will have quite a few re-prints of existing pieces - and not many of them would fit into the useful/competitve bracket.
As for Command HQs - only ever used 1 and that was in a booster!

I love have lots of pieces though. I am over 10,000 pieces I haven't been able to carry my figures with me since early Dark Age. I have played command HQ's a few times when they went to multiple orders required for Arty. The morningstar's are just so expensive and not very effective I just don't get them. Maybe we need to come up with a challenge to find a use for a Morningstar. I have given away about 10-15 of them. I am going to Texas to visit parents on vacation. I am going to try and catch a few mechwarrior games there. I can't even decide what to take with me.. Just not enough room in the suitcases

Houston is like 3-4 hours away from Dallas. Nick is a good guy. I met him at the First Nationals. I am not a terrible fan of HK (the Shiro's are nice) I haven't used a lot of their other pieces. Good luck and roll well at the European Championships. Remember open your boosters from the bottom I am cheering for lots of you guys to win Elite130, tjpandv and Brinxter! I am sure you guys are going to have some fun! Let us know how things go.

I don't think I have ever used one even in sealed! I don't use them at all. Too expensive for what you get IMHO. However, I know X-sythe likes and uses them (I was discussing this with him last night, in fact). He likes that the command unit can defend itself a bit. His opinion is that the higher damage keeps it protected against flanking fast infantry when the rest of your army moves out to engage. Z

I wasn't sure if anyone had anything good to say about them. I have never seen them played! I guess I am just from the era of the 12 pt command unit!
Does X-Sythe actually make good use of them? The seem like a horrible point sink to me. I would like to see an army where they are considered to be useful!

I'll wait and let X-sythe comment on these himself before I put too many words in his mouth.

Ok I will be patient and let him speak for himself.. I just don't see it though... (although sometimes I am a little blind in areas)
