Please stop tormenting me.... It offends my battletech sense so much. You don't know how many people always wanted to make a bigger mech but we had a sense of limitation. Well I hope the don't make the stats too good for people to buy them!

I heard a rumor that every mech in the next base set will be >100 tons. Each will come with a vehicle and two infantry to enable a full formation drop with every booster. Man that'll be SWEET!! Z

I'd missed this on Realms, bit it was on the German WK forums:
Entdeckt von David Blizzard aus dem MW Realms Forum:
I've been at Wizard World Philadelphia this weekend, and in the display cases WizKids has on display "Zeus." It was at the center of the display slightly higher than eye level (at least my eye level), so I didn't catch all the details of the stats.
"Zeus" costs 525 pts. He has 3 attacks of 4 or 5 damage. Ranges are 14" for primary, 8" for secondary, 14" for tertiary. It looked liked he had Artemis IV and secondary & Armor Piercing on tertiary. Speed was 4.
So add in a pilot, gunner and engineer, looks like we have our first 600 point mech - Actually, I just hope it tops out at 560 points so you can get Merc FP in...

For 35 points you would only probably get a +1 pilot Also you have to account for special abilities if it is their chosen mech. I guess we can switch ares pilots around though 35 points isn't going to buy a very impressive pilot if the costs increase as they did between heavy and assault. I guess the wolf hunters can't pilot these mechs either

The Merc Faction pride and this unit does sound scary.. Although if it actually has two pilots (isn't that what I heard?) You wouldn't be able to afford that and the Merc Faction pride for 600 pts!

No they are not, nor will they be brake the game. Like people say the bigger the mech the bigger the target. You also have to remember, that even if this thing can take like 1,000,000 orders a turn, it will eventually shut down or blow up like every other mech out there. Further more it woun't stand up to say 450pts of onins and MORNINGSTARS. It would just subcome to "to many indians" syndrome. They will probally be played in big point unrestricted events so they can recieve support. They're cool but not going break the game (novelty items) ;D

Put it this way, we have had a 100 ton limit on battlemechs for over a millenia (story wise) One would think with all the tech brake throughs in weapons and gear that breaking 100 tons wouldn't be that much further down the rhode....I'm mean road. ;D

There is a physical limit though. That was always the restriction on the Mechwarrior. I mean if they want to have force fields and really off the wall stuff. It wouldn't hardly seem to be a Battletech game anymore.

I remember looking at the announcement, thinking what kinds of wicked Gear I could put on this monstrosity. Gotta have some IT, Decoy wouldn't hurt... 4 and 5 damage is lowish, maybe Pulse? ...And then I realized I don't own any Colossal-class Gear cards.
