Help I got an Invite.

Guys, can anyone lent me about $ 1500 so i can do the Fellowships Worlds.......

All kidding besides I just got an invite for it, although it is an enigma to me how I got it.

I am just praying this isnt some mix up with the real Worlds.....

The only fellowship I won to my knowledge is the member of the month award at MWrealms.........

Brinx got the same invite so I pray it isnt a mixup. I booked my ticket 2 months later not for the next 2 weeks.

Strangely enough I got one as well, considering that I earned "World Fellowship" about a month after it had stopped being eligible for winners.

Looks like lots of people got invites, which is cool. The more people at big events, the more fun they are. And the prize of Worlds Fellowship is excellent, so hopefully that will draw more people. I am really looking forward to it. Mechwarrior at Origins seems like it will be quite the upswing from last year!

The Scrubby match is up to ~30+ people (bigger than some of the nationals competitions). Nats has a lot of buzz and Worlds Fellowship has the potential to be HUGE!!

A big convention presence is what this game needs right now. I can't wait!!

I'll say this here so I can be a bit more frank. Be careful where you post "I didn't earn an invite". Here is safe, but posting things like this on the WK forums gets people looking. I know I started looking, and I DID find events that some of you won fellowship at. If you didn't know you won fellowship, then there's a problem. Just be careful guys, I don't want to see any of you get bounced for shady business.

I hope the Worlds Fellowship becomes a regular feature. The short notice for this year probably has probably prevented a few overseas players from travelling (premium plane ticket prices and work commitments being the 2 main reasons).

However, I see that Origins 07 is scheduled for July 5-8.

That far out, the trip could be budgetted for. I suppose the trick is making sure you win a fellowship before you put a deposit on the flight.

That is the reason why I try to get the Dutch Nationals as early as possible. The sooner the easier it is to plan and to get a cheaper flight.

I do hope WK will start sponsering the idea to the distributors.

But to me honest the concept of w World fellowships to me is silly. I like the concept for small tournements and you must support there. But i feel it has no place to have a populairty contest during a mayor tournement.

This isnt meant to put down fellowship or such I just prefer an cleancut competition. It is the same reason I dont like draft or sealed.

When I first heard of the Worlds Fellowship I also thought that it sounded a bit daft. I imagined players constantly apologising for rolling high and offering opponents mutiple re-rolls. All in all a thouroughly pleasant affair.

It will be interesting to see how the event turns out. With the top 25 now getting entry into the Worlds, it seems to have freed up some of these players to attend.

Worlds Fellowship my a**e, this could be Hyperlasers at dawn!!
