Got it, new army.
Mech(s)[/u] 1 "Veteran" Nova Cat(CNC) w/Alberto DeJesus 1 "Rising Sun" Wendigo w/Arzu Shishelki vehicle(s)[/u] 1 "Veteran" Bishop Transport VTOL Infantry[/u] 2 "Elite" Thunderbird Battle Armor 1 "Veteran" Scout ATV(CNC) 1 "Green" Combat Engineers(SC) Total:600pts
Do not know the Planetaries/Missions to use. Most likely, I will try to playtest this tomorrow. Until then.

Thekaiser.. where did your army fail at the other night? What were its strengths and weaknesses? was it a failure of your army or the dice or you needed different decisions?

The game last night was a draft.
Kaiser's army suffered from being split up (at least in our game). He pulled his stalking spider too far away from the rest of his army and got it enyo-dropped for six and hit with my stalking spider for 6 more. He made a poor tactical choice going for the dropped enyo with a charge from Buford which was not a good choice in terms of points / click. He hit it and hurt the enyo, but got blasted by my mechs soon after. If he had applied pressure at my army as one mass, he would have done better. I would have liked to see him use the SS to screen Buford's advance and hit with an assault order.

My army from the last night follows;
Mech(s)[/u] 1 "Buford" Neanderthal w/Lex Corpus 1 Stalking Spider(HD) w/Focht Grad Infantry[/u] 3 "Veteran" Thunderbird Battle Armor(SC) Solar Flare for planetary
Well, the first match I played against an opponent fielding;
1 "Jack" Nightstalker w/Jules /BAP 1 Stalking Spider(HS) w/+1/-/+1 pilot w/Heavy Armor 1 Salvage Recovery thing(ROTS)
He started with putting all the pieces in one piece of hindering. After some manuvering, I got a charge onto the Spider, and hit for 4 or so clicks. I then charged and failed with the Spider. The opponent had Sniper's Steppe the entire game, so while I was trying to hit the Salvage Vehicle, he was attacking my Inf, which were impervious to his mechs' attacks. After a few shots onto the Neaderthal, and salvaging the SP fighting me(Mine was salvaged as well), I charged a shutdown Nightstalker, needing an 9 for 5 clicks.
I rolled an 8.
After that, it was basically go for VC3(After restarting), which I took before he managed to kill off my "Buford", and meleed the TBAs to death after Snipering them. If the charge had succeeded, I probably would have taken the match, but, rather unfortunately, my dice failed me on that one.
Next army;
1 "Elite" Nova CAt(CNC) 1 "Nebula" Wendigo w/Kisho Nova Cat 1 Ravager Battle Armor(HK) 1 Combat Technicians(HK)
The battle started with him hitting my SP with the Nova Cat, but I quickly followed up with a charge, getting exactly what I needed. I then charged again with the SP, missing I believe. I ran the infantry up after that, and based Kisho, stoppnig him from shooting "Buford". After that, I killed off the Nova Cat after a critical miss(And him killing the Spider), and then charged Kisho in the rear arc for 8 clicks, one of the TBA still tying him up. But then I shut down, and failed to restart(Twice). By the time I had, he had already shot me into salvage, leaving my TBA to fail a pushing shoot against Kisho, and die.
Third battle, Vs. Zxqueb.
Mech(s)[/u] 1 Stalking Spider(ROTS) w/+1/-/+1 pilot 1 Solitaire(HK) 1/+1/+1/+1(I think, cannot remember) Vehicle(s)[/u] 1 "Veteran" BIshop Transport VTOL 1 "Veteran" Enyo Tank(In Bishop) Infantry[/u] 1 GDBA(HS) \ 1 Ravager BA(HS) Formation 1 Angernora BA(HS) / Some other infantry, think another Combat Technicians.
Well, by this time the tourney was pretty much over, so I wanted to kill the first thing that moved against me. I tried to pulse his Bishop, only failing the first attack thanks to Decoy. He then moved back, dropped, and missed. I moved out and shot the VTOL, hitting for 4 clicks. The tank Shot back, and hit me for 6. I then ran "Buford" and charged the Tank, hitting for 4 clicks. He then used the Solitaire to finish the Sp off, and then I was shot by his own SP, for four clicks. I finishedo off the tank with the TBAs, and charged the Spider, and shut down. After that, he finished off "Buford" with the two mechs in a one-two attack, and won after running all his fast pieces to my DZ, as he started picking off my TBA in his. Basically, we ended early, as we both knew he was going to win VC3, so he took the win.
Yes, you could chalk up the last battle as "not thinking", but I was a little upset about the first two being decided because of a single bad die roll. Oh well, still got "Buford" and "Nebula", so not complaining.

Alright, new army to post...
Mech(s)[/u] 1 "Veteran" Nova Cat(CNC) w/Alberto DeJesus w/Laser Anti-Missle System 1 "Rising Sun" Wendigo w/Arzu Shishelki Vehicle(s)[/u] 1 "Veteran" Bishop Transport VTOL Infantry[/u] 2 "Elite" Thunderbird Battle Armor 1 "Veteran" Thunderbird Battle Armor Total:600pts
Planetaries[/u] Ice Field/Polar Gale
Now, there is one change I would like to make to this army, which is to take out the LAMS and put in 3 Scout ATV, and replace the "Veteran" TBA, with a third "Elite" TBA. Unfortunately right now, I have currently 1 Scout ATV(Traded the other to Zxqueb for another Bishop), and 2 "Elite" TBA, so I work with what I have.
However, if anyone has the extra ATVs and "Elite" TBA that they do not need, I am sure we might be able to work something out through Zxqueb:)(As in trade through him, not with him, since he needs his ATVs and TBAs).
Also, despite my three losses in that draft, I sm #1 in my municipal area for drafts! Wow, that is a shocker...

Unfortunately I am still short of the ATV's I would like to have! Sounds like some interesting battles. It is going to be a somewhat different game after January. I still haven't used any Annihilation figures except during draft/sealed games.

Another varient of the Nova Cat/Wendigo army to put up. I am sure you are all sick of them by now, but I think this one would be very nice, if I can get the "Elite" TBA and H Camouflage I need...
Mech(s)[/u] 1 "Elite" Nova Cat(CNC) w/Alberto DeJesus w/Camouflage 1 "Rising Sun" Wendigo w/Arzu Shishelki Vehicle(s)[/u] 1 "Veteran" Bishop Transport VTOL Infantry[/u] 3 "Elite" Thunderbird Battle Armor 1 "Veteran" Scout ATV 1 "Veteran" Oni Battle Armor(HK) Total:600pts
Storyline-driven army, no PCs or Mission Cards to be mentioned.
The main switch here is to the "Elite" Nova Cat, from the "veteran" model, which loses 2" on its Primary range, to a 14" from a 16", but gains Pulse instead of TSEMP, which is the main point, as with a 12atk value, I hope to be able to damage things rather hard with it, even at decreased range. Other things stay similar in strategy.
I think I will post soon a 1050pt army that will be for a tournament in December, presuming I can go thanks to Swim Season.

ANother new army, this time 450pts. Inspired by Zxqueb's current AOTW.
Mech(s)[/u] 1 "Rising Sun" Wendigo w/Arzu Shishelki w/Armor Piercing Vehicle(s)[/u] 2 Bishop Transport VTOL(CNC) 1 Enyo Strike Tank(SC)(In Bishop I) Infantry[/u] 3 "Elite" Thunderbird Battle Armor(In Bishop II) 1 Combat Engineers(SC) Total:[/u]450pts
The main Idea is to one turn use Arzu Shiselki and one drop, then the next use Arzu again with the other drop, or in either order. Combat Engineers are point filler, of course. Planetaries have not been chosen yet...

Taking a look at that CNC/SC AOTW, I'd love to know how people feel about using the regular Kisho versus his LE doppleganger. With the regular Kisho, you save points on the fact that he has a good chance of beating armour/decoy but you loose out on that assault range/ability to move up in line with the TBA formation. Nebula Wendigo Kisho Nova Cat (L020) CNC Bishop CNC Elite TBA WH CBA x 2 SC R10 CNC Enyo CNC ATV HK ATV x 2 True Grit I've put in the WH CBA as they should take a click when they jump out of the Bishop which primes them so the formation is either 2AP or 2 with pulse. True Grit is in there to counter the Merc FP . I think the 2 x HK + 1 CNC combo seems the norm these days.

Alright, next week at the Twinsburg gaming group will be a 900pt all-mech army. It stands currently as;
1 "Elite" Nova Cat (CNC) w/ Alberto DeJesus 2 "Veteran" Nova Cat (CNC) w/Sebastian Paschke (one of the other) 1 "Nebula" Wendigo w/Kisho Nova Cat Total:890pts
I do not have Steven P., so 1 Nova Cat will go pilotless in this battle, probably. However, I may change the build for a cheap fourth 'mech, so another pilot can be gotten on.

Taking Elite's "hit 'em before they hit you" tactics, this sounds fun for a CNC/SC army at 450...
CNC PH1 + Kelly + IT CNC Bishop + SC Enyo CNC Bishop + Elite CNC TBA + 2 x WH CBA 5 x CNC ATVs
A mech that attacks at 12 IT with a big assault range (I'm beginning to warm to this one) and a formation drop for 15 IT.
The ATVs should be able to either first strike a meaty target or act as mid-table harrassers and base any incoming.

tjpandvYour only hammer is a very fragile one I like the ph1 but it doesn't like the center piece of an army. It does make a good second hitter!

I know what you mean, unless it gets a TSEMP shot in, I can see most other mechs wiping the PH1 from their boots. That's the beauty of test games, if you get fried after 10 mins, you can always call a halt, put a brew on and start again!

TSEMP is a mixed blessing in my book. Sure it makes him easier to hit this turn but it clears all the tokens off the mech at the beginning of your opponents turn. I have forgotten to turn it off playing sealed a couple of times and it actually almost cost me the game. The basically get a heat free action after TSEMP
